How is Bama getting around the SEC rule on institutional noise? Rule states, "The use of institutionally-controlled computerized sound systems, including music, and institutionally-controlled artificial noisemakers shall be restricted to pre-game, halftime, post-game, after a score and team or media timeouts."
auburn was gigged on this several times for playing "Eye of the Tiger" between downs (of course they were playing it during snap as well). USC was also scolded by SEC just for playing a loud rooster crow on 3rd downs...they were told they could only do it between quarters, during timeouts, half time, pregame, and post game. Has SEC withdrawn the rule or is it just a case of them not enforcing it anymore (like the MSU cowbell thing)?
It's a stupid rule, but began to be enforced a few years ago because of auburn's abuse of noise by blaring music during opponents snap count, Meyer and Spurrier both complained to SEC.
