Question: What was your most gratifying part of the game?

Now don't get me wrong, I loved the offense. The way the line played the way we used 4 backs in the first half, the way Kirk H. said "you get pounded by Glen Coffee, then a fresh back like Ingram comes in and thats just not fair if your a Clemson defender". But as a former D-lineman in highschool, I have to say I LOVED the fact that Terance Cody didn't just play in "spot" duty. given all the hype about Jones, Scott, and a host of other players the play of Mt. Cody just impressed me like nothing else. the guy is a baller. I think it was about mid way through the 3rd qtr Clemson threw a little screen pass and Cody not only pushed the ctr 5 yds off the line but assisted in the tackle of the screen. now the guy was already going down in a tackle but Cody just added the little extra assist. it took a while for the Clemson guy to get up after that. I just love the play of this kid.

I agree. T.C. has the ability to dictate the play calling of the opposing team. Our whole D-line was awesome!! T.C. was double and tripled teamed at times...and still making plays!! Notice Clemson started trying to get the ball outside after several futile attempts to run it up tha gut.

The most gratifing part of the game....I can not remember the last time we physically dominated a team. So physically dominating a really talented football team really pumped me up! RTR

I was in the Denver airport bar with my wife awaiting a flight to Atlanta so only got a chance to see the kickoff and a series or two. A Georgia fan and Fresno State fan were sitting nearby and one turned to the other and said, "this is what Alabama football used to look like."

It was 3-0 when we boarded but my brother kept texting me with updates. My favorite: "We are beating the hell out of them and they look like they want no part of us". This was halfway through the first quarter.

Great victory for us and better yet because we did it the Bama way: tough, classy and irresistible. RTR!

This may be kinda long but im just gonna bring up the some points that needed to get brought up on why I felt great about the game.....

- The kickoff to begin the game when they put the camera on Julio's face and praising him, the focus on the kid's face was priceless!!

- The first drive the way Mark Ingram came in after the first few carries for Coffee and he continues right where he left off!!

- The catch by Maze that was called back!!

- The first defensive play, Clemson goes with a playaction pass and no one fell for the fake and Rashad almost comes up with a pick!!

- The second defensive play, where TC just blows up the play and Cory Reamer just comes in and wraps up Jamie Harper and causes the fumble and Hightower recovers it!!

- The big run by Ingram where he plows through 2 defenders, I think the emotion he showed after the run is what got me pumped up the most!!

- Marquis Johnson, I think alot of people wrote him off but he played great yesterday. He looks like a new player, combined with the play of Arenas and Jackson. I think we have three very good corners right there!!

- The hype they gave Julio every time he touched the ball... At one point I think they called him superman!! And the roar of the crowd the first time he caught a pass!!

- The tackle and the emotion showed by big TC after he brought down James Davis for the loss!!

- The huge hit that Barron put on Jacoby Ford... I hope he is ok after the other hit he took from Woodall!!

1. None of my fears were realized. The LB corps was not 'exposed'. Thumper and Lightfoot couldn't get around the corners before the good guys. No fumbles. No interceptions. No letup. No fear.

2. All of my hopes were surpassed. Both lines dominated. Mark Ingram is a monster. Tiffen is confident. JPW looks good back there. The frosh look good. The players don't trash-talk, nor do they need to. Bama is a team again!

I can't wait 'til SEC play starts!

Some are asking when was the last time a Bama team totally dominated like this. The most recent was against FL in Tuscaloosa when RP broke his leg. Before that it would have been the Sugar Bowl game for the 92 NC game.

The most gratifying thing to me was to see a TEAM play like Coach Bryant used to say, "with one heartbeat".

Every part of the game, offense, defense and special teams, except for the kickoff return for a td, was thoroughly dominating.

Hopefully this is just part one of a 13 part play that just keeps getting better and better.

Hopefully Bame will end the year just like they have started it with a win in Atlanta.

The most gratifying part to me was the way the backs (all 4 of them) ran the ball. In the past we've had way to much of a back getting hit by one guy and simply going down. Not last night they all were tough, hard-nosed backs and showed with every opportunity (with the ball and while blocking too).

Also JPW's obvious confidence in those around him was refreshing.

1. The return of physical, ball control football and defense.

2. Half the dome screaming Rammer Jammer, and the other half empty!!!!:BigA:

1. Showing up as a hard nosed physical team with attitude.
2. Not clowning around and showboating. Showing class and reserve.
3. Knowing we are becoming a Nick Saban football team already.

I agree. He is so good that he will have to watch for the chop blocks against you-know-moo...

Oh, I could go on and on here with specifics but the most gratifying bit was something funny my 11yr old son said after the game. He said Alabama was so tough they "eat lightning and crap thunder"... and I'm pretty sure he wasn't aware of the Clemson backs nickname (he didn't really watch the game- too busy throwing firecrackers in the back yard with our friends kids) he was just trying to mix in an old cliche.

No disrespect intended toward those talented RBs, I'd love to have Spiller & Davis at Bama, but that comment just caught me at the right time. And really, that was the most gratifying part! Not that we "ate" them or anything... just that we were able to completely take them out of the game. Well, other than the big kick off return.

I just watched the game a second time (TiVo) and I have to say that everything you said above it right on, especially and most importantly..."Bama is a TEAM again!"

:BigA: RTR!

when it was over...lol

Haha, nice. Good luck to you the rest of the season.

Besides all the aforementioned things regarding the lines, the RB's, the freshmen, etc., the most gratifying part for me personally was watching the faces of all my UThug fan friends as we continued to beat Clemson into submission. Before they game they were all talking trash to me about how Spiller and Davis were going to run all over us and Clemson was going to hand us our collective behinds on a platter. They got more and more quiet as the game wore on and by the end they had either walked away from the TV or shut up completely.

They also gave me hell for pointing it out every time a true freshman made a play. But by the time they had seen what those freshmen were truly capable of and when I mentioned that this was only a sign of things to come, I could SEE it in their faces. "It" was full blown FEAR. They are beginning to realize that Bama is a different team now than the last decade and it scares them to DEATH. Knowing that our SEC rivals are going to start fearing us again is pure gratification. RTR :BigA::BigA::BigA:

How about watching it over on DVR this morning and being able to enjoy the replay knowing that the over shoe would not drop (I kept expecting it to until midway throught the 4th quarter!).

This is the first time since the 92 Sugar Bowl that I have rewatched a game the entire way through-pure enjoyment!!

On O, the long, sustained drives with blocking and running (Coffee and Ingram) and passing (Walker mostly).

On D, the tipped ball interception at the end of the first half. That was a definite team interception and effort. It ws a beautiful play.
