Question: What year did you attend your 1st Bama game?

My first game that I went to was with my dad to Legion Field in 86. We played Notre Dame and put a beat down on them. Still remember Cornelius Bennett bringing the pain to the ND backfield.

If memory serves

October 4th 1913

vs Birmingham College
the game was called at the end of the 3rd quarter
Alabama-81
Bham College-0

Did I mention I was a prison guard then, in charge of death row inmates
we called it the green mile.....

....at least the game was real...

ROLL TIDE !! :BigA:

My first game was Mittitippi Tate vs Bama in 1956. Bama won 13-12. It rained all day and was cold as heck. I caught cold and had to soak my feet in a hot bathtub at home afterwards so I could feel them again. I was ten years old and sat between my Dad and my Uncle Earle. I remember lying in bed sick afterward and missed school the next monday. I remember sleeping with my football for a long time after that. The whole atmosphere was magic to a ten year old, even though the team was pretty sorry under Whitworth. We lost big to Vandy that year. Rice beat us and the Barn whupped us as well. At least my first game was a win.
Even under the DuBose regime, nothing was as bad as the Whitworth teams. A lot of you younger guys just aren't old enough to remember Mel Allen repeatedly saying "Star fades back.... he'*****..... he fumbles...." When Coach Bryant came in '58 it was like the first golden dawn after a nuclear winter. Having lived through that era, i think makes us older guys appreciate our winning years a lot more. If only by comparison. RTR

I remember those days......I would love to be ten again........:).

Mel Allen, Bart Star, getting to see the start of Coach Bryant's Bama career.........You are one lucky fella.........

Alabama vs Tennessee 2003. I despise the phase "free football" because of that game. It was real heartbreaking given the circumstances. I thought we had a upset cooked up. BDS was rocking that day.

1969 Ole Miss. Have seen a number of great ones since, many that went Bama's way a few that didn't. Can't wait to get this season going.

Alabama / Auburn I think it was 1961. Bama was killing the barn but the barn was about to score on the 2nd string.

Coach Bryant put in Leroy, Zeke Smith, and others and the barn went backwards.

I had jumped the fence and was standing on the sideline hiding from the guards.

Great memory.

Lee Roy was something special. I remember Zeke Smith as an All American OL for the Barn during their only championship season of 1957. And wasn't he one of the guys that got them on probation for being payed to play for the barn?

Sometime in the mid-70s...I was so young I don't remember. I was lucky enough to go Alabama games like going to church...I just don't remember the first time-what a problem to have.:biggrin2:

November 13, 1982. End of a 57 game winning streak at BDS and also the last time Coach Bryant would prowl the sidelines at BDS.

Don't remember. I am too old. Said that once and got in trouble.
Bart Starr was the QB though and don't want to look it up.
Just Roll Tide Roll again and hope to live long enough for #14. :BigA::BigA::BigA:
