Where does Petrino end up in all of this?

Depends on how the SECCG goes. I think that Gus is still headed out the door if they lose. Then I could see Petrino at Auburn.

Gus has to know after the roller coaster this year that he has no job security. He could use his success to leverage more control over the Arkansas program, because the PTB's at Auburn will never let him have any.

Think about it - just 2 years removed from a trip to the NCG & mid-season there were those clamoring for his head. Don’t think that’s a healthy work environment, but that’s just me. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Petrino's only chance for the SEC this year would be Auburn. I don't see MSU calling.

No the image is not pertinent to the question but it's funny and I think we could all use the laugh.

I could see Petrino in the Florida State mix if Jimbo leaves them. He lost his AD (the one that revived his career) at Louisville...their athletic department is a dumpster fire right now. He has better access to talent and better shot at ACC success at FSU. Louisville without Lamar Jackson next year is likely in a rebuild mode. Probably would get a nice pay raise.

I just do not think Gus heads to Arkansas this year, but if he should miraculously leave then you can send the auburn plane or tractor to Louisville.

All I can say is ol Gus needs to get out while the getting is good. If he somehow comes up short next year on some key games, the masses will be calling for his head again. Just don't see why he would stay in a scenario like that. JMO.
