Question: Where does this rank among your most painful Bama losses?

This ranks up there with the 72 Punt-Bama-Punt game. I listened to that on armed forces radio on Guam and I could not beleive what happened then or yesterday..
That one still rankles me more than any other, because after all these years, they can't let it go. They obviously don't have much to be proud of if they have to reach back that far.

This loss stings more than any game I can remember..What hurts the most is it widens The Barners record to 7-1 at BDS(a Barner friend called & reminded me of that a few mins ago)..That's what hurts the most..
I know. I have driven to Tuscaloosa 6 times for this game and have watched/heard them celebrate 5 of those times. That is tough! They don't even have their own song (Rammer Jammer) and have the nerve to play it at our stadium. I don't know what they do at their stadium, but even in the beginning when we were playing Sweet Home Alabama they were screaming War Eagle during our Roll Tide. Do they have anything of their own that isn't Alabama's?

And once again to those in The Zone that sold their tickets to Auburn fans I don't appreciate you. I had to put up with them while you sat at home, laughed all the way to the bank, etc... Thanks.

The only thing that keeps me sane is perspective right now. Hopefully this time next year I'll be celebrating instead of lamenting and playing this stupid game over and over again in my head.

I agree. I cant get it out of mine either. The fact that they have beat us so many times with LESS, meaning less talent, less coaching and less Class!!! That hurts a true Crimson Foundation donor and Tide Pride member. I love this University and all it represents, hard to swallow there dominance inside our stadium. It really is starting to get to the point of ridiculous.

This one stung but New Years Eve Sugar Bowl 73 24-23 lost to ND I cried over the worst and most disappointing one ever for me.

That's mine as well. That nearly killed me.

Losing to Penn State on the horrible call in 83 ranks up there as well.

Punt Bama Punt was bad...I actually know David Langner and he told me years ago that they knew they could block our punts because of a flaw in our blocking scheme that Sam Mitchell, their defensive coordiantor at the time, spotted in film study.

This one hurt.....but not so bad...because I could see the game unraveling towards the end of the half. So even though it was a huge disappointment...it wasn't like I was shocked when it was over.
I was amazed that we could blow a game we had total control of, but I wasn't shocked, if that makes sense.

There's so many...Georgia beating us 18-17 in 65 when they did the lateral off the completed pass for a touchdown when the receiver was easily down with both knees on the ground before he lateralled the ball.....

Don't want to think about it anymore...lol

Bring on the Bowl Game and next year.

ranks very high on my list because of two reasons:

1...it was the barn
2...we blew a 24 pt lead

I still don't know how Bama football players could let our most hated enemy overcome a 24 pt lead and beat us...IN OUR HOUSE!!! :(

Right up there with the 72 Iron Bowl and the 97 Iron Bowl (which we had won until Bruce Arians got stupid).

We had our foot on their throat, and we let up on the gas instead of stomping.

You guys need to suck it up! This loss doesnt define our season its not like we havent played the same all year long. I could understand if we had played lights out all year and then stunk it up in the IB but thats not the case. I hate a loss as much as anyone but I aint gonna dwell on what could have been because it wasnt! The Barn doesnt have anything else besides this. Heres some thoughts that may ease your minds........

2004 Auburn 13-0 snubbed for Nationan Title
1993 Auburn 11-0 Cant win Championship(on probation)
1983 Auburn 11-1 3rd in the nation won Sugar Bowl Both #1 and #2 lose #5 Miami jumps them in final poll to Claim National Title

And as for the record in Bryant-Deny that started in 2000 when we went a 3-8 for the season next game in 2002 we were 4-8 for the season. Face facts we were a bad football team and are just now getting back on top in time that record will take care of its self.

Everybody needs to wear your 2009 National Championship Shirts to remind the Barn of what they still dont have!!!!!

Me too bro. You would think that pride alone would see you through a 24 pt lead. Just sad!!!!!!

This would be the most painful loss to me that mattered. Just made me sick. We shouldn't blow leads like that. This team isn't coached by Mike shula. What's the deal? What happened to the process, apparently someone hit the restart switch. IDK

My worse loss to the Barn in modern history. Simply because our guys were on fire in the first quarter and it looked like a possible blow out, again. Even a one point victory after multiple OTs would've been acceptable in the end but thats not how it ended. I haven't posted anything until now since the game's conclusion on Friday. Just sad and dissapointed in the outcome of the season and this Barn game in particular. I didn't have NC expectations (yes, I did have NC hopes, but not expectations) for this year, but the Barn is THE one team I fully expected we'd beat, and we should have. It was ours to lose and we did.

That said, I'm a bit fatigued at this juncture and somewhat ready for the off season. I'll always love and support our beloved players and coaches and I'm optimistic about our potential and possibilities next year. It'd be a great way to finish off this season for our team/coaches with a dominating performance over whoever our bowl oponent is. Of course, I'm stating the obvious for a lot of us here on TideFans.

Roll Tide!

Louisiana Monroe is mine.I can take getting beat by SEC teams but Monroe will always be the worst loss to me.
Same here. Along with losses to Central Florida, Northern Illinois, LA Tech (twice), Southern Miss.....really any team that we stand head and shoulders above in talent, but lost to for whatever reason. Those are the tough ones to me.

Those games were complete flukes.

OK, the one where Brett Favre ate our lunch, maybe not. I recall the team saying how impressive he was.

No, those are easy to forget, as they weren't a recurring nightmare.

I think a lot has to do with your age. Those of us close to 60 have our two, firmly in place.

Granted, Bama had more overall talent than Northern Illinois, but the best player on the field that night is still, to this day, running all over folks in the NFL for the Falcons.
