Poll: Who do you hate more?Auburn or tennessee?

"Hate" is a strong word, but it's NOT strong enough to describe my feelings for either of these teams!

Auburn. And here's why:

Although Tennessee did everything they could to wreck us, I chalk that up more to Fulmer than to the entire fan base. Maybe I'm naive, but generally speaking Vol fans still to this day (on the whole) speak highly of us and our history. My goodness, even UVB says nice things on his blog.

Auburn blames us for their 1970s probation - you see, Coach Bryant called up the NCAA and got them in trouble and put on probation. He did this because despite the fact he needed no help and had drilled Auburn nearly every time they met, he was jealous and wanted to keep them down lest they become a threat to his monarchy.

Auburn blames us for their 1993 probation - you see, even though Eric Ramsey had a tape collection and incriminated the whole bunch, he was put up to it by Alabama. There is, of course, no evidence of this, but since when does that matter to a Barner? Keep in mind that Ramsey was in the 1986 recruiting class (he was redshirted) at a time when Alabama's record against Auburn since 1971 was 12-3. Obviously, we needed someone on the inside to take down the Barn because they'd been beating us so badly for so long.

Auburn blames us for Cam Newton - you see, even though it was Auburn who paid the guy and MSU who turned them in and even though Auburn skated, it was all Alabama's fault. Nick Saban couldn't stand the fact that he'd only beaten Auburn twice in a row, so he gave Cecil Newton money and blamed it on Auburn.

Auburn blames us for Johnny Manziel - you see, even though we were not involved in any way, it is still our fault.


Seriously - given that record of projection, who would you hate more?

If there is a Hall of Fame here, I nominate this post.

I respect LSU too much to even think about putting them in that group. Auburn by a long shot. I think Fulmer was the biggest reason I hated Tennessee so much.

I used to respect them and they have a strong team, that's it. Their players are always getting in trouble. Their fans are garbage. They still whine about 2011. I don't think they're ever get to that level of dislike but it's not like they don't push the envelop!

I hear that. I guess I just like the fact that they're probably the only team that can compete with us year in and year out playing our style of football. Not gonna disagree with you about the rest though.

LSU hates us right now because of Saban. Once he retires, that will die down. Not sure why they are so upset about it, never heard Florida fans complain about South Carolina.

No who fans around here. Just Alabama and Auburn pretty much. The barners are pretty quiet lol.

And I TOTALLY disagree...we beat them for so many years pre-Shula and in BR every other year consecutively that who fans have ALWAYS hated Bama, ever since Cholly Mac (and maybe before). The arrival of CNS just made it white-hot, but it was always there, and intense; I saw it, firsthand, going back to 1971. It will still be there when CNS leaves.

All the more reason to abhor the barn. As if that was needed! Now, they are chest beating over this Racean Thomas that just committed to them. He is supposedly "the one play maker they have been missing that is needed to get them back to being in contention". Okay, so, they lose all their conference games last year, and yet this guy can suddenly put them back in contention? They may want to try winning an SEC game first! Not to mention, this one play maker they have been missing won't even play until 2014 at the earliest. That is IF he doesn't change his mind about where he is going to play college ball. Also, the HUNH offense is back at auburn, so "SEC defenses are worried sick". Okay, wasn't this same HUNH offense also in place in 2009 and 2011? How did that work out? I believe it was 8 wins, 5 losses both years. That's 16 wins, 10 losses without a once in a lifetime player at QB. As for the SEC defenses that are supposed to be "worried sick", well that came out to 3-5 in the SEC in 2009, 4-4 in the SEC in 2011. That's 7 SEC wins, and 9 SEC losses. That was the gus short bus without $cam. So, now he's back, he still has no $cam, (and no, Nick Marshall is not another $cam in the making) and yet, some of them are already talking about "riding that gus bus to Atlanta and Pasadena". Yeah........:conf2:

Yep, I think some of the younger ones are SEC fans. I remember before the Auburn-Oregon NCG, it was suggested by some here that we should pull for Auburn because they were from the SEC. Sorry, but I'll never, ever pull for the Tiggers or the Viles, I don't care what conference they belong to. After I take that ole dirt nap, some younger fans can sit around the SEC camp fire listening to "Rocky Top" and hollering "war eagle" if they want, but not me...ever

To truly understand the hatred between us & auburn..You have live among them your entire life to get an inclination of the rivary & hatred between us..It's a hatred that's ongoing 365 days a year, the hatred never sleeps or dies, you have to live it, to truly understand it..JMHO
