Kicking is my only real concern about the game. I sure wouldn't want the game on the line and a 40+ field goal attempt.
yeah but neither team has a kicker who can kick accurately from that distance.Unfortunately, I have to agree with you.
LSU doesn't rugby kick. (I'm assuming you're talking about that silly "let me run off to the side and kick it low and flat, then let it roll). Wing approaches 5 second hangtime on his punts.
Well, I did say it was silly...but my point was, we don't employ a rugby style punt. Wing's Australian, but doesn't kick like a rugby punter does. He CAN, but I haven't seen him do it this season. I've seen him kick boomers with unreal hangtime, and I've seen him kick shorter placement punts with unreal hangtime. I've seen him kick right footed, and I've seen him kick left footed. He's a freak! I haven't been able to tell why he switches feet. At first I thought he used one foot for long kicks, the other for short kicks. But after watching replays, he seems to kick either one with either foot.Agree your punter is better but have to disagree with the Aussie Football/Rugby kick being "silly". It is a very effective punt as many special teams don't want to try to catch it in case they muff it.
Good point and one I hadn't considered.LSU gets penalized by an average of 30 yards per game more than us.....to me that negates any advantage in the kicking game they might have.
