Re: Who replaces Scott Cochran

Richt averaged 10 wins / season and they didn't spend the dough. I expect Smart's gonna have to win the SEC before the boosters even think about flowing the cash...

Or they could say "Our current investment is producing championships" and keep on keeping on.

Re: Who replaces Scott Cochran

And IMHO, this is what keeps Georgia in mediocre mode. They just don't have the mindset yet to invest in their program enough to get the tools nessacery to make that next jump. I just don't get it.

Heh. I always thought it was Richt keeping them mediocre. But, yeah, if you think you're a big boy, act like one and spend the $.

Good point.

Either way, recent history shows that UGA supporters aren't willing to open their wallets like Alabama's are. And at the end of the day, money talks...

Re: Who replaces Scott Cochran

Scott Cochran Staying as Alabama Strength and Conditioning Coach

"I appreciate everything The University of Alabama has done for me and my family during our nine years here. It's a privilege and an honor to work at such a special place. What makes it so special are the people here and all of the fans who support the Crimson Tide. I'm just fired up to be a part of this program and helping to continue the success we've had. I'm grateful for the chance to work with our players each day, and that's what this is really about. Coach Saban has been great to us, and I want to thank him for all the opportunities he has given us. Roll Tide!"

Am I the only one who read this in Coach Cochran's voice and spontaneous accenting of words and started heartily laughing to them self?

Re: Who replaces Scott Cochran

Mark Hocke has to feel disrespected by the whole thing. He worked under cochran at Alabama, and took the job at Georgia.. only to find out Kirby wants Cochran to join him...The thing is if Cochran had take the job at Georgia, where does this leave for Hocke? Go back to Alabama as SC coach? And then, there's next year where things could get dicey for Cochran and Hocke...So I think Cochran made a smart decision to stay another year, but I don't know what this means for hocke....

It's a business. I'm sure Hocke knows that. He has to understand how things work.

Nope :) , Here is where they fell in for me:

Anybody else see the ESPN piece today asking whether it is fair for an S&C coach to make more than some head coaches? Just goofy.
