Who wins the Miami vs LSU game?

Miami is ranked (top 25) by Athlon #6, CFN #7, Lindy's #7 and Sporting News #7 for an average #7

LSU is ranked by the same magazines as unranked, #11, unranked and #13.

Miami is a 3 point favorite in Vegas at the moment, It seems a lot of people figure Ogre is on the way out the door. The QB transfer may help. I can already tell on the Who fan boards that they are not looking forward the season. Pessimistic, is the mood on the two I visit. I guess I will have to root for them against the 'Canes ~ but it won't be easy. I really think LSU has the better team but I am not sure Ogre won't "coach 'em down' again.

That's a tough one. I mean LSU should win, but the question is how badly are they sabotaged at this point. On the other hand Miami lost their last three games, even their big wins from last year don't look so good in retrospect. I think it's a case of LSU wins this game or they should start considering who else is available.

It all depends on the LSU QB IMO. If he is halfway decent they should win simply because their defense should be good. That said, LSU has a cartoon character as a coach so anything is possible.

If Les was still the coach there I'd be pretty solidly on the Tiga's. Without looking my guess is they probaby have better overall talent.... BUT, with "Slingblade" Ogre-on there, ehhh...... I think Richt is a SIGNIFICANTLY better Coach, so you have to give Miami a good chance, in not an outright nod to win this game.

Every post on this thread is spot on. LSU has a never ending supply of really good players. Miami has talent, and a couple of years in Richt's system. I don't know that Orgeron has a system. Maybe he does, but I am not sure because wherever he goes....he is speaking on the future or bragging on the present. Like a rejected kid with an inferiority complex. If I were betting on this game...I would take Miami by at least 6. Just my opinion. LSU has enough talent to win, but I expect Orgeron will begin feeling heat as soon as the wins don't happen.

If LSU loses this game they're setting themselves up for a 7-5 type season which will have Orgeron out the door. At this point it's about as close to a pick 'em as possible but the game is significantly more important for Orgeron to win than Richt..

I'd say LSU, mainly because of the way the prior season ended. After LSU lost the embarrassing game to Troy they rebounded to win 6 of their last 8, only losing to Bama and ND during that stretch, so I'd say the second half of their season was somewhat positive. Miami on the other hand lost the last 3. It looked like Richt was rebuilding Miami into another powerhouse but I think those losses created some doubt about Richt and the progress of the Miami program. I know we're talking about a different year and some different players here but I think LSU will come into the game with a somewhat more positive attitude about the season than Miami.
