Who would you pick #1 overall in the upcoming draft? I've heard it is about 80% that Carolina will pick Mr. Cameron. I just don't think that is a wise decision, but it isn't my money. Carolina needs some offensive power so I bet they pick Cam. Carolina fans will want him to play right away, but I don't know how good he would do. I feel sorry for you Panther fans. The kid is full of himself. :)

I would go with Marcell or Bowers or someone like that. Bowers has a knee problem I believe so we will see how far he falls.

I would do everything in my power to trade down. I don't think there is a player in this draft worthy of top pick status. I don't see everyone's obsession with Blaine Gabbert. He hasn't worked in a pro system anymore that Newton has. Dan Patrick said the other day that McElroy is probably the most NFL ready out of any QB, and I see that from a technical standpoint, although as much as I love him, I don't see him being an NFL QB. I think if I had to make a selection it would be Dareus if I run a 3-4 or Fairly if I run a 4-3.

On a selfish note, i'd like to see our big three not get drafted until at least the middle of the first round. The later the better, because you go to a better team, a better organization, and have a better chance at long term career success which means more money over your career. Plus, our guys are used to being winners and surrounded by people who strive to succeed, and when you get picked in the top 10 you are usually going to a perennial loser.

Patrick Peterson but I might be biased. Have been wondering lately why Drake Nevis has not been in the conversations with Marcell and Fairley. He earned SEC defensive player of the week several times this year. Do you think it may be that he is 6'1 like Dorsey?

If I were in charge of an NFL organization the only offensive positions I would ever consider for the top pick would be QB or LT. That said, I would almost ALWAYS pick a DL. So as biased as I am, I would go with Marcel this year. Or Fairley, if I liked him better. The only time I would ever go to any other position than DL would be for a guy like Matt Ryan or Peyton Manning that I would've considered a SURE thing. QBs have an 80% failure rate don't they? At least, it seems like it

Toughest year to make such a call that I can remember. I'm assuming that I'm supposed to the GM for Carolina because that makes a huge difference.

For example if the Saints were picking first then I'd take Ingram because they desperately need a running back.

But if I was Carolina I'd think that my offense needed some explosiveness in a very big way.

Steve Smith is getting older and more prone to injuries and they need another receiver a lot worse than they need defensive help.

So I honestly would go for either Green or Julio.

I wouldn't take Newton simply because I've got too much already invested in Clausen and he's only had one year to prove himself, which isn't enough.

When I narrowed down to Green or Julio I would go with Julio because of his character, work ethic, and athletic ability. Plus I think he's simply a better all around football player.

Someone before mentioned trading down. Ultimately I think that's what will happen because Carolina needs a bunch of picks, not just one biggie.

If I'm Carolina, I'd think about a Defensive Lineman (Dareus, Nevis, or Fairley). If I am thinking from my chosen team's perspective, the Dolphins, I need a quarterback badly and each of the top 3 or 4 has significant problems....freaking great.

Exactly..Your 1st pick should address your area of need the most..If you need a big play WR to become an explosive offense..No way I would pass up Julio with my 1st pick..Julio type players only come around so often..

Marcel Dareus has set himself apart from the other candidates at his position...
(Think, bigger, faster, stronger. and better coached)
Hard work,Dedication, and coming from a University that prepares the athlete
for the next level. Coach Saban teaches Alabama players how to excel.

It also didn't hurt that Marcel played at Alabama and was on TV almost every week. There is enough footage of the big man that few questions remain as to what he can do for the pro teams.

Marcel was front page news for months after the showing of him tackling Colt McCoy in the NC game.
(It wasn't even one of his better hits, but it was a game changer...)
