Why would anyone complain about a 4-star QB taking over?

Who knows???? I'm personally excited because today some barners and viles at school decided to talk some smack with me and tryin to tell me our season's over and my respoce was I'm not that worried about a Miami transfer taking over, when a QB is 7th rank pro style QB there's no reason to doubt, and don't get me wrong I love Brodie and enjoy watchin him play but when things happen you just gotta suck it up and move one and rally behind Marc because what's done is done and all we have to look forward to is tomorrow!!!!!

:biga2:

To be sarcastic I will say because he's not from Alabama, he's not one of Bear's Boys Sons, and he didnt come here first.

But Im not worried. I look forward to it. Backup QB's have to step up everyday. We just arent used to it.

Actually I think I read that his Mother is from Alabama and that technically makes him an Alabaman. I think that you inherit you hairline and bloodlines from you Mother don't you. ;) He also has family in Bama and of course since he transferred to Bama he has been an official part of the Bama family.

It seems that some Tide Fans (won't mention any names but they make it apparent with almost every post lately) are still so mad about Brodie getting injured that they will not support Marc.

To answer the question 4 stars wont get you any wins. A 4 star QB rating by the recruiters usually gets you a very talented QB recruit. If that 4 star QB is signed by Miami that usually means he is a pretty darn good QB. Then if immediately after transferring to Bama that 4 star QB is the only scholarship QB during spring practice that is able to take any snaps it gets you a 4 star QB with some good experience. It is not the 4 stars that will get any wins it is athletic talent and learning to execute the Bama offense that will get the wins. How many wins? Only time will tell. But it is a team sport and I like Bama's chances the rest of the year to get plenty more wins. Call me an optimist or a sunshine pumper but that is just the way I see it.

In answer to your question, they complain because "they" would not have done it that way and they know more than the coach knows and they would not let anything bad happen.

4 star

I am pulling for M G have no doubt about it....and wish we could stop the complaining, but do not give me this 4 star stuff....That means nothing once they are in school. Also, I believe most coaching staff's recruiting is based on film and clinic eval's.not on a players *'s . Most likely a star rating only get's a recruit a chance to be scouted not actually a scollie.

i may have missed something, but i don't remember one post complaining about guillon taking over. a lot of people questioned brodie being in for the 3rd quarter, but i really don't recall anyone complaining about guillon now being the starter.

in fact, as i remember (and no, i was not one of them) but a lot of people said they thought guillon should be the starter at the beginning of the season. that, i can't quite comprehend, as nothing i have read or seen so far makes me think he's better than brodie.

problem is, i see the same thing happening over the brodie injury that happened after the wheels came last season. we're back to the point that:

1. the superfans are tearing into anyone and anything that is the least bit critical of the coaching staff
2. the superfans are labelling anyone who doesn't totally lay down and agree with what they think as less than a real fan...or worse, calling them traitors
3. both the superfans and the accused are so blinded by their lunatic reaction to what's transpired over the last few days that they imagine reading things that don't exist

i guess the lunacy that prevades these times is really proof that football to bama fans is second to almost nothing. but it's all a bit disturbing at times, nonetheless.

i'm secure in my passion for the tide. i'm secure in my beliefs as to what is and is not the right way to do things (in football and in life). one thing i would never do is suppose that those with whom i disagree are twisted, stupid, disloyal, or untrustworthy just because they disagree with my viewpoint. that's just plain nonsense.

you don't have to be a coach making $1 million to have a reasoned viewpoint on football, just like you don't have to be a former president of the united states to have a reasoned viewpoint on how the country should be run. if it were otherwise, there would be no reason for elections.

everyone should just get a grip.
