I started to post this last week but thought I'd wait til after the third game to see if he played. I havent noticed him on the field at all this year,(maybe he has been and I havent seen it). Is he a candidate for a redshirt this year to learn the corner position ?

I noticed him on the sidelines today and wondered the same thing.

He moved to CB and I don't think it would be a bad idea for him to redshirt this year, but I'll let CNS make that call. :)

Probably...

As much as I hate to say it , I have serious doubts as to whether or not he will ever play a meaningful down @ Alabama . JMO :(

Wouldn't make any sense to redshirt him, if that is the case.

The same thought has crossed my mind. I really liked him on offense as a slot receiver, but it just didn't work out last year. I know a lot of people really liked him as a CB.

He's really ripped, but he's not very big. I liked him in the video I saw of him in high school. He was great with the ball in his hands and that's the reason I liked him on offense.

Time will tell.

I've always thought that it's tough to give a player a 5 star ranking without a defined position. I like B.J, but he was always a project in my opinion.

I have a couple of thoughts, first, its easy for people to assume that they know what's going on in the practices, but very few people actually know how people are performing, looking in practice, other than the team and coaches. If the coaches believe he can contribute, and contribute right away, to the team, then historically, the coaches have played that person. I believe with more spread offenses and more nickle packages in our defense that BJ Scott, if he continues to improve and work will be able to play in our secondary. So, to throw my "prediction" or "assumption" into the mix, I see BJ and Dre back there over the next year or so. RTR

There has to be something we don't know about the situation. Scott and Barron are the two best athletes on the team, IMO. For him not to even be a back-up tells me there is something else going on.

He needs to be our wildcat guy. That would be a major upgrade from Ingram in that role.

It seems like he made some big plays in a couple of our fall scrimmages. You've gotta believe the talent is there. Hopefully, it is just a matter of him being a raw talent at this point.

considering that we've seen the top notch guys new to our scheme struggle it doesnt surprise me. I think it's a process with him and how much he progresses will determine whether he gets the RS or not. Dre Kirkpatrick in high school was unreal yet with this scheme at this time he isnt ready himself.

Absolutely correct. If it were just a matter of "go cover #82,' Zo Lawrence would be with us and starting...

BJ is in a bad slot behind serious talent. Dre is playing, Green is solid, Kareem will be back and Milliner is the real thing and will play BJ needs to learn the system quickly or find himself rarely seeing the field. Football is a bouncing sport so you just never know when the light comes on for a player.
