Will Gameday be at Tuscaloosa next fall?

With LSU on the road and our opening game in Texas, does anyone think that Gameday will be making a trip to Tuscaloosa next fall?

If they do, it'd probably be for Auburn. Other than that, nothing on the home schedule would suggest them coming.

They'll probably be at the LSU and Michigan game, though. LSU is a toss-up, though, since that's the same day USC plays Oregon. It'll just depend on the records of all involved.

Texas A&M is at home. That might attract some interest with it being the Aggies first trip here and being a new SEC member and all. Plus there is our shared history with Bryant.

Here's hoping they don't make it to campus, ever. With 101,000+ fans, campus is already being pushed beyond it's limits. All gameday does is add to the chaos by enticing thousands of people with no hope or intention of going to the game to come to T-town for the day. Thanks, but no thanks.

Edit: too funny, you guys “dislike” my “dislike” of gameday. That’s okay; you’re entitled to your opinion, too. Allow me to state it another way: news that gameday is coming to t-town is as welcomed by me as, no doubt for some of you, when the wife informs you that your mother-in-law is coming for a “visit”. You have to put up with it, but you don’t have to like it. Continue disliking if you must, I don’t mind. Peace.

And those people spend money in the local economy. As a Tuscaloosa local, the more the merrier.

Gameday has been a Tuscaloosa several times since the renovations...I fail to see the problem

I don't think Gameday brings any more folks that aren't going to the game than come on a normal basis. Many fans come to Tuscaloosa for the heck of it, and Gameday isn't the deciding factor.

Not to mention the fact that Gameday visiting generally means your football program is really good. I guess we could go back to sucking so they will never come back.

:rolleye2: at the "if you don't have a ticket stay out of Tuscaloosa" mindset I love it when the town is packed. its a blast. Granted the traffic is horrible.... Gameday should be there every week. :)

The only extra people that Gameday brings into Tuscaloosa are the crew that put on the show.

Now...the big difference on campus when Gameday is there is that it forces thousands of fans to get into Tuscaloosa the night before or earlier in the morning. So it makes traffic a little more difficult during the 7:00 AM hour and it tends to crowd the Quad a little earlier. Aside from there...there is generally no difference in the number of people on campus by midday.
