He's a Sooner. Don't waste any more brain cells even thinking about getting this kid. This is based on very good information out of the Joplin/Springfield MO areas.
Ya dont be so quick to jump off the wagon. We are in his top 5, he says hes open, and we get an OV. So we have at least a 20% chance of getting him. You never know, he could love Alabama when its over and done with. With that said, it will be a tough pull but I will hold out hope all the way until National Signing Day.

Based on what I know from my sources, DGB realizes he'll be in the NFL in 3 yrs regardless and is more intrigued with catching 80-100 balls/season playing in the Big 12 than taking his turn in blocking duty and maxing out with Julio-type numbers. Basically, it would appear that he would rather be a bigger fish in a smaller pond. Arkie has made some strong overtures to him, rumor even has it that they offered his stepdad a coaching job, but I have not been able to confirm that. TIFWIW

I know the one dimensional WR's with great receiving stats get drafted quiet well but someone needs to tell DGB that one of the things the NFL coaches liked about JJ was his great blocking ability and being an all around great football player.

I would love to get DGB, but I don't think it's in his best interest to come to UA if he plans on an NFL future. We've sent one successful WR to the NFL in the last decade, and he'll have a much easier time putting up numbers at OU or Arkansas. If he wants to win, though, he'll come here!

Kind of my thought too. It's close, it's a national power (or was recently, anyway), and they throw it 40 times per game. I say the smart money is on Norman.

FYI Our coaches saw him today
Good, but that really doesn't mean much. We've got the best recruiter in the country and we are still in BIG TIME on some big fish like Yeldon and Winston, but I'm here to tell you we are not going to get DGB or Barry Sanders, for that matter. They are both headed to the Big 12.

I agree, BET. He would thrive here but he'll get more ball touches in the Big 12, more specifically OU, and won't have to deal with the physicality of SEC DB's--something he has EVEN commented about according to my sources.

I agree. He is probably a Sooner. And Later he will regret that sooner he didn't go with the Tide. Sooner or later...you have to come to deal with reality.

Hell of a player, but he wants what he wants. Much tougher for a Wideout to thrive in our conference where defense is played.

True, but Julio, A.J. Green, Jeffries and others show that it can be done. I think we all agree that if he is looking for a pass-first offense, he'll be looking somewhere else

I wouldn't give a cent for your sources especially the coaching offer one, that one started out on the Mizzou end early on this summer. Oklahoma really dug itself a hole when it really tried to pressure him into committing before the season TIFWIW. That's at least 2 cents worth.

Chittlins--gee, aren't we in a good mood?;) btw, I wouldn't give a plug nickel for your sources either. If you're so confident of them though we would all love to hear more.
Oh, and how badly are you guys gonna represent the sec this yr in your bowl game like you normally do?;)

I stand by what I have been told. Boomer sooner, Chittlins...

He was too fatigued to make the trip to Norman due to fatigue. Pity, he's going to try to reschedule yet again.

Chatter on DGB has heated back up again. No clue what our chances are but were we to end up with DC and DGB on the outside and half a dozen burners rotating the slot for the next couple of years, someone might mistake AJ for a great QB by the time he was a SR.

Certainly worth watching.
