Yesterday on FoxNews' Your World with Neil Cavuto, Bill O'Reilly took credit for lower gas prices:
O’REILLY: I have guys inside the five major oil companies - my father used to work for one of those oil companies by the way - who have told me that in those meetings they look for every way to jack up oil prices after Katrina, every way, when they didn’t have to. They got scared because of my reporting and reporting of some others. They said, “Uh ho.”

CAVUTO: So wait a minute, you’re not, you’re taking credit for gas prices being down from where they are?

O’REILLY: I said my reporting and some reporting of others. They got scared.
Here's a video clip.

One of the silly things Bill O likes to do alot is use common sense.. A thing that is missing from the brains of most liberals.

Most conservatives (myself included) will agree that O'Reilly has zero common sense....

O'Reilly is going to get up there with Chuck Norris pretty soon.

"Gas prices don't bring Bill O'Reilly down. Bill O'Reilly brings gas prices down."

I initially liked O'Reilly for the sole fact that his interviews are not puff pieces like you see on Larry King or the Today Show or most other forums for that matter.

But, he is a grandstanding populist and, when all is said and done, he's just a journalist. He has no particular expertise in fields such as economics or in industries such as energy. And so I don't watch him because I don't come away more knowledgeable after watching his show.

In other words, he is Rush Limbaugh on TV. A windbag with a hugely inflated ego and no sense of humor whose constant babble attracts those who prefer to let others do their thinking for them.

I like it when O'Reilly is out of his environment....as in when he is the guest who is given the same rough treatment he saves for his own guests.

He can sure dish it out but he can't take it.

So I guess I should thank him that my stocks have dropped in price, which affects my retirement. I should also thank him because employees could face layoffs if financial targets aren't met and cost cutting measures are implemented. Finally, I can thank him because my raise/bonus won't be quite as much which means there is less money for me to spend in the economy.

O'Reilly is a dork. I feel sorry for the kids that had to "learn" from him when he was a teacher.

I used watch him every night but it seems that after the sexual harrasment lawsuit he is starting to go off the deep end. Now I mostly watch Countdown instead.

It's easy to spew baseless attacks on people isn't it. Very rarely do people that attack Rush like the one on this thread do the people have any substance or facts... Reading what liberal blogs have to say isn't enough.

What happen to the arena of ideas and thoughtful debate about issues?

I read these comments by you guys and I think to myself what absolute complete morons... They just dont have a clue.. But if I were to just post that then I too have a lack of substance. One loses the argument as soon as names start flying. So I am not going to say that you are complete fools that dont have an open mind or a reasonable thought about much... I am not going to say that you are just trying to offend others with your rudeness.. I not going to say that you should all moved to Siberia or start an Anti-American camp somewhere... and stay there.

No im just going to say, what are the facts and what makes common sense?
Why do you believe what you do and how does that differ from my beliefs?
Why does it matter that you are hopelessly foolish, just like our danish friend?

OOPS.... so much for that idea.
