I have a 10 year old nephew who is becoming football obsessed. He has played some flag football in the past and may play some in the future but will probably never actually play tackle football. At least not in the immediate future.
However, he really wants football gear for his birthday. He wants an NFL style helmet and pads the whole thing. I know nothing about that world as I only played flag when I was a kid and played a little intramural at Alabama.
Does anyone know more of this world and have some good advice? I know the bigger emphasis is probably on it being similar to NFL players as opposed to safety or practicality since he likely won't use it in an actual game.
