Link: Confirmed: Hightower gone for the year

Sucks for Dont'a. I won't whine about the team, we will be fine. I hate it for the kid that he is going to miss the season, which could be a special one, and all the rehab he will have to go through. Stay strong Dont'a we're all behind you, rest and get well soon. RTR.

As expected... you could tell by looking @ his face yesterday after the play; it was bad. Stay strong DH.... and ROLL TIDE!

Dontae is a young man who has worked his entire life to give himself an opportunity to succeed in life. For himself and his family.

I'm going to miss him as a linebacker, because he's incredible.

But my primary concern is that he does indeed fully recover so he can, one day, not only play again for us, but sign that NFL contract that gives him and his family security.

This injury makes me sick at my stomach because this guy was a multi-millionaire waiting to happen.

I just hope and pray that it all works out.

If I scream a very loud "damn it" right this second, I hope the mods will understand.

He was my favorite player on our team.

Yeah, you forget just how young these guys are until they get an injury like this, then you can see the little boy written all over their faces. He looked absolutely heartbroken yesterday.

Oh well. All will eventually be well for you, Dont'a. Here's hoping for a speedy and complete recovery.

It wasn't a chop block but a cut block instead. Chop block is illegal and a cut block is legal.

Yes, it was a legal block, and I'm sure all teams have done it, but I hate seeing it. It's cowardly. Man up and block the guy face to face, don't dive at the knees because you're not good enough, fast enough, or strong enough to do it right. That's my opinion, but I feel strongly about it.

Godspeed Don'ta. You'll be back, good as ever next year.

:BigA:I just dont like the win at all cost attitude of a team that would deliberately injury someone to give them a chance of winning!
