I have to agree. If you guys are going to be starting multiple freshmen on the OL then you better stock up on QB's as well...:biggrin2:
I don't think that is going to happen in the 2010 class. From everything I have read , 2011 is supposed to be a much better class. I am sure they will try and get 2 in 2011.

In 2010 once you pass Sims (Bama) and Heaps (BYU) there is supposedly a drop off. I know I am biased, but Bray (UT) is supposedly going to be one of the best in the 2010 class too when all is said and done. :) Hopefully this works out to be the truth.

Do you remember the saying "He could takes yours and beat you with his." That is always going to be the case with Saban and Kiffin. Thhe judgement is still out on Chizik but as it stands right now, if we lose out on a commitment, number 1 I want him to go to Tennessee and my second choice is LSU. This way they will never be able to hurt us.:BigA::biggrin2::BigA:

Well what I was actually alluding to, was too many frosh on the OL in the SEC will more than likely lead to injured QB's.

But you guys seriously need some help at QB, stat. Crompton doesn't appear to be the man. He also needs to lose that silly mustache.

Jawuan James is obviously an outstanding OT prospect (or Saban wouldn't have offered him). However, if he is not totally committed to the Tide so be it. Unless he is another Andre Smith, he probably would not play his first year. If playing early is important to him, then he'll go elsewhere. If getting a national championship ring is one of his goals, then he'd better stick with Coach Saban. Other than Florida, I don't see any other team vying for the NC in the next few years.

Whatever this young man's decision, I truly wish him well.

JaWuan is a great prospect, but i'm not losing any sleep over his de-commitment. With Bama still in the running for Robinson, Stone, and Kouandjio, I believe Bama will be alright. I really hope we land Robinson and Stone. Anyways, the best of luck to Jawuan regardless of what he decides to do. :BigA:

According to the AJC, James's coach "theorized" that his decommitment had much to do with our recent NCAA situation with the text books. Link here
FIFY...
They just chose to title the article in a compelling way.

Sphire theorized that Alabama’s run-ins with the NCAA this summer over a textbook scandal fueled James’ doubts.
"He did feel like when this thing came up with the text books and that kind of stuff, that kind of threw him into a tailspin,” Sphire said. “I think he’s over-worried about the consequences if something else were to happen and that kind of got him thinking. But to be honest with you I’m not real sure.”

The way I see it. If a kid does not want to be part of a National Championship you cant force him. Its not for everyone or Auburn would have one! Just saying.

OT Jawuan James Update (9/28)

Since de-committing from Bama he has visited UF and UGA for games and he plans to visit Tennessee and UCLA soon. He said that UGA and UT are his current favorites and it appears likely one of those schools with land his signature.

crazy how this guys heart seemed to turn on a dime.
I can't speak with any sort of authority here, but I'm wondering if the fact that DJ Fluker is headed for a reshirt played a part in this kid's decommittal.

Could our current depth at tackle be the concern for James here or have there been developments with Robinson or Stone?

We will land two more offensive linemen in this class. And in all likelihood they will both be higher rated than James. Not to knock the kid because I think James is a fine prospect who will turn into a very good player. But I believe at least three of the four of the linemen we have on our board are better than him. And it's possible that ALL four have more potential. TIFWIW.
