Unreal. The University has had some public relations blunders in the past but this one takes the cake. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face...

Pictures taken at games by your camera is not a copyright violation.
However if someone else uses your image that was taken, and using it for profit or gain, then that person would be violation the copyright of your image.
More or less you cannot copy and post. However you can still link to the picture.

This is absolutely ridiculous. When our team sucked, many of us stood behind it, pledged money, paid for seats, scholrships, tickets, etc. Now that we're good again, my beloved alma mater has taken to punishing the same people who helped it. Br:BigA:vo...Br:BigA:vo.

I paid eighteen bucks for my Bama cap. Can I continue to wear it, or do I need to pay monthly royalties in to the university? :mad2:

I am going to start an online petition, but I need a good "Petition Statement".
Maybe someone who has excelled in English or has a way with words :), could come up with a nice statement for me to use? If so, either post it, or IM me, which will be kept confidential of course.

Thanks

Mafia U strikes again...

Well after this, they should move on to Facebook. They could have tons of fun with that site considering UA pics are posted daily in groups and on profiles.

This is Mickey Mouse nonsense at it's finest...

BamaNation, I hope you or someone will inquire as to the real intent of this. Does it really extend to avatars? I understand that many of those used here are copyrighted material, but the memo from UA only mentions pictures specifically.

I really can't understand why the university would think this is in their best interest. Seems to be nothing more than exercising their authority to make a buck by any means possible whenever possible. Losing the Daniel Moore battle must have really upset some powers in high places. Now they have chosen to take it out on the fanbase.

Lame. No one here is making any profit off of the copyrighted images. Quite the opposite, actually. We are likely generating revenue for the University.
