It is being reported that Jim McElwain visited Monday with Fork Union Military Academy OL Morgan Moses 6'7" 347lbs. With Groh out at Virginia we just might be able to turn him.

Awesome.. I wonder where he is on our board? Sometimes I get more excited about these massive linemen than I do about the skill guys! lol

He was one of the top tackles in the country last year, but failed to qualify after commiting to Virginia, I think. If interested, I'm sure he would be near the top. He is one of the best run blockers I have ever seen.

His stock dropped last year because he was a good run blocker but couldnt handle speed rushers. Haven't seen him after a year at Hargrave, though.

This staff always pulls out a surprise every year, I love it. They leave nothing behind, try every angle, it's great to be a part of this.

In that case, do we need another OG in this class? Aren't the rest of the guys on the board OTs?
No, but a year at Hargrave could have done him a world of good. I just haven't seen film or read anything about him this year.

Yes, the rest of the board is OTs.

I think we could see room made if there are enough of these big names spring up late in the process.

Here's the situation on Moses and how it can play out.

1:
London creates a comfortable atmosphere for Moses, hires a line coach, and Moses can enroll early. He'll stay committed to UVA

2:
The only shot USC has is for Moses to enroll early. If he can qualify he would enroll in January leaving no time for any other official visits outside of UNC.

3:
If Moses doesn't qualify it's going to allow a lot of big time programs to enter into the game and he'll probably sign with one of those.

As of right now (if he can enroll early) it's looking like a USC/UVA/UNC battle with USC holding a slight edge of UVA.

Sounds like other big time programs have already entered the game.

Absolutely true, but there's just not enough time for them to make an impact if he can enroll early. It's all going to boil down to if he can enroll early for USC, if not it's going to be a FFA because he'll have enough time to take OVs.

It looks like Bama is trying to get back in on Morgan Moses. The coaching change at Virginia has him looking around at other schools. Moses visited South Carolina this past weekend and according to his coach in the article posted above South Carolina has the early lead. He has plans to visit UNC. Besides South Carolina, and North Carolina he is saying he is also interested in Clemson, Auburn, Tennesse and Virginia who he committed to last year prior to going to Fork Union Prep. I have not heard him mention Bama yet but with CJM visiting hopefully we can get a visit.

After a busy couple weeks, this weekend will be quiet - Brian McLaughlin - The Recruitnik - Sporting News
Morgan Moses, a 6-foot-7, 350-pound prospect out of Fork Union (Va.) who is a very soft commitment to Virginia, will check out South Carolina this weekend. With the Cavaliers' recent coaching change, he has said he would at least look around some at other programs. Moses is rated the nation's No. 1 prep school prospect by Rivals.com.

Scout.com: Mammoth tackle talks official
Fork Union four-star offensive tackle Morgan Moses, originally out of Meadowbrook HS in Richmond, VA, committed to and signed with Virginia on National Signing Day 2009 with all intentions to play for the Cavaliers. But after he failed to qualify academically and was forced to go to prep school for a year, and former Virginia head coach Al Groh was fired, Moses finds himself looking at other options, though he still considers himself a Virginia commitment.

South Carolina 2009 signee and current Fork Union standout safety Chris Payne has been working Moses to take a look at South Carolina for months. And this weekend, Payne finally got his way as Moses officially visited the school.
