Question: What does this UGA/aTm game tell us about our opponent?

A little early, to be sure, with a quarter left, but UGA ain't exactly a defensive star team. And aTm has managed 14 pts so far against the weak sister UGA and 39 against UT, that defensive star team? Hmmm....

Looks like aTm is tearing it up between the 20s but not punching it into the endzone very often.

A&M has had two picks almost go all the way back for td's. Georgia actually converted both of those in to td's. GA also has a blocked punt in which they recovered at the 2 and then punched in for another td as well as a kickoff return for a td right after an aTm td...

A&M has been their own worst enemy with the turnovers and special team blunders...

I do hope this is a good sign for us coming up in the bowl game. The GA defense isn't even close to comparing to ours. Hopefully we can keep the horns in check and roll to victory!

I am not sure what to think. What TAMU did to UT was kind of like what AU did to us. How a team performs in a rivalry game is hard to judge when looking at a bowl game situation. Obviously TAMU has no defense, (sorry Joe).

It doesn't tell me much about our opponent other than special teams failures will sink any team quick.

I don't know what it says about my Horns, but the game should be a teaching film for coaches to show their players that special teams are kind of important.

edit: Ha! rgw beat me to the punch.

I've only watched a part of it, so I'm still forming my opinion. The latter part of the game, UGA's defense has looked stout, which we know it's not...
The Aggies as has been noted have been their own worst enemy and Georgia has been cashing in on the mistakes and opportunities. aTm seems to be wearing down while the Bulldogs seem to be getting stronger, odd isnt it? At times Georgia looks good on defense and at times they look horrible. To me the game looks like one played Sept. 1 instead of Dec. 28. I hope Alabama doesn't come out that cold Jan. 7.

They say you have to win two of the three phases to have a shot of winning, but in my opinion you can never lose special teams and have a shot of winning.

Rivalry or not, aTm does not look like a team that should be putting up 39 points on UT. I watched the UT/aTm game and I couldn't believe the offense they were putting up...

really?

so you are saying that evenw without a special teams collapse followed by a TO collapse this team has no reason to ever put up 39 points against an opponent playing for the 9th strait week? on at the end of a short week at that! You notice the yards they had this game?

btw i was rooting for UGA. But then again i root against most Big 12 teams.

I love it when the conference represents well in the bowl games (**ahem, Kentucky!!**)...seeing how UGA is now up 44-14, they've spent the entire second half just stuffing it down aTm's throats and making them like it. Don't what (if anything) that says about our opponent (I'm leaning toward the "it doesn't mean anything" persuasion), but we shall see.

I think aTm looked really good at times. As mentioned earlier, Aggies had more yards and TOP. They really beat UGA on the field, but special teams and turnovers cancel out yardage. JJ played well early, but got rattled when they got behind and started to make mistakes. I don't think Colt will get rattled and make those mistakes. They will be in the game and whoever gets the ball last wins IMO.
