All joking aside. USC's AD Mike Garrett is a lame duck. Word from out West is that his fate has been sealed for a LONG time now. I guess this hire is his haymaker before his back hits the canvas.

You guys should know that I hate UT as much as the next guy, but Kiffin is a piece of trash! Doing this to UT is much sorrier than anything Fran ever did to UA
This is a horrible time to leave UT. They will have to scramble for a coach. I think this is a big win for GA, as they will reap some recruits from this I'm sure.
The bright side, that none of them will see, is that this is a good thing for UT. UT, for all it's problems, is a traditionally classy program and he was ruining it. This will probably set them back for about 3 years, but they will get another coach.
USC deserves him, and when they get popped on probation, I will shed no tears!

Gave a very generic thanks and said USC is the only school he'd leave UT for and then he grabbed his papers and walked out as a reporter was trying to ask a question..WOW..just WOW! HAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH

Well I would be sick if he went also. However, you could not blame the guy for taking a head coaching position. I just hope he holds out for something better.:BigA:

VolNation (which was always a Lane love-fest) appears to have crashed. They're probably erasing all the Kiffin is God threads.
The fact that Tennessee just got there spirit crushed is soul-warming but truthfully this is good for their program and the conference.
Kiffin's coaching ability (or lack thereof) was a topic for discussion, they definately improved over the season. What shouldn't be in dispute is that he has no idea what it means to be a head coach in the SEC. He also has demonstrated that he doesn't really care to play by the rules. His departure probably keeps the Vols from finding themselves in USC's situation a few years from now and that wouldn't be good for the conference.
One more thought - just how big is fat Phil's smile right now?
