Ohio University has apologized to Ohio State and its fans after the school's Bobcat mascot tackled the Brutus Buckeye mascot, touching off an impromptu wrestling match before Saturday's game at Ohio Stadium.

I thought it was stupid Ohio apologized until I watched the video. I don't know what this guy was thinking. I do think it was funny... Just a bit overboard.

I agree. Probably would have been better to stop or something, but there was no need to apologize. That was all damage control.

I doubt it since the mascot has been relieved of his duties.

That was a stupid question for me to ask. He wouldn't need to apologize if it was staged. Continue on past by stupidity.

That is hilarious. I think banning the guy for life was going a little far.
Seriously, he just put Ohio athletics on the map.

How many mascots can you name? I don't even know Vandy's name, but I know Rufus the Wildcat. Ohio University should give this guy a lifetime pass to all sporting events.

I bet the reasoning for the ban and apology is OSU's their daddy, so to speak. OSU is the top dog for the state of Ohio when it comes to athletics. They have to make sure they keep clean record with them.

Seeing this video makes me wonder why we don't have mascot fights at the beginning of games more often. I think it would be a cool little show.
Of course, this makes me think of Ace Ventura.

Reminds me of Big Al taking out Albert the Gator in a game, as well as the Cougar from Houston and Duck from Oregon going at it as well.
I remember being at a Bama game one time when Big Al "took on" the Southern Miss eagle. I don't see the big deal. Mascots should mess with each other.
