What's the story behind your TideFans name?

I am part of a race of immortals who take this moniker by defeating our champion in battle......

Or It was my nickname in my Fraternity at UA, given to me by my "big brother" after watching Shawshank Redemption or something like that, it was never clear, but the name stuck more so even than my real name at college at least. I added "TheReal" part after joining Twitter years back as a tribute to Shaq's twitter account and to distinguish myself from other people who had the same nickname.

In all honesty the immortal warrior story is better. I'm going with that.

Thanks, Bama Fossil, for a super thread. Always wondered about so many of your monikers, like TheRealPokeChop.

BamaNooga=Bama (by birth and education) + (Chatta)Nooga, my home for the past 29 years.

My grandmother was the only one in the family that called me Willie instead of my middle name like everyone else. First name is William. The 52 is just a number (actually my age but I didn't want to say it)

I always hold the hope for a fun and successful season, possibly even a national championship. Bama fans always have that hope. Not many fans of other teams can say that.
Of course, it is my great hope that truth and justice will bite the barn in the end too.

These initials are self explanatory.....plus the letters on my U of A license plate. Love this cheer no matter how many people want to ban it.

If you've ever been in the stadium after a Bama win, then you get it. My first name is Ross, so it just made sense.

I've been using this as a screen name for several years now.

bama = obvious

jag = Jacksonville Jaguars (lived there in the 90's when Jax got the team, no previous NFL loyalties)

600 = love motorcycles (have owned a Triumph 600cc sportbike for the last 10 years)

Two years ago I had the handle Get 13, well they did so I figured what the heck, let's keep it going, sorta along the same lines as NationalTitles13. Hopefully by the time I die It will be Get76 or something like that!

Name I use everywhere, just about...Longfellow gets credit for the original "full" version, but because of my last name and the fact I spent almost 25 years of my life on the water, it seemed OK 30 years ago, so it's kinda hung with me...

I have a sister that's special. During my playing days she would call me Wileybb22 because of my jersey number. To this day she still calls me wileybb22. I have 4 sisters. 2 of them call me Wally. Go figure.

New to the board and evryone here has been great. Northeast Bama, because I'm one of a very few from up north (Saratoga Springs NY) who Roll with the Tide... Headed for PA 9/10....hope to meet lots of Tide Fans..RTR

I am a big War Between the States buff and Confederate General Patrick Cleburne is my favorite general to read and study about. I use his name on all the forums that I am on and this is a picture of him.

Was comming from Fl. and just after crossing the Al. state line, I saw a sign that said BAMANUTS. Of course it was someone selling Pecans and Peanuts, but I thought thats me I'm Nuts for Bama football. Thats how I got the name.
