Can someone please explain to me what kind of "horsing around" between a grown man and a 10 year old boy alone naked in the shower is ok? I keep hearing that as an excuse and my jaw drops each time. What? Say it out loud yourself if you don't think its crazy, seriously say it out loud. "I just saw a grow man and 10 year old boy alone naked in the shower, but it's ok because they were just horsing around".

Also, Jo Pa said in his official statement that he's saddened, disappointed or something if he hurt children "to this extent". Really? What extent is ok?

Agree. No matter how this was explained to Paterno, it had to include the two naked, touching and in the shower room alone after regular business hours. Just this should have prompted harsh actions, and my gut tells me it was explained in an even more unpleasant way.

Imo, when the ball gets rolling that the 2008 event could have been prevented with proper 2002 intervention, then it will be lights out for Joe Pa and his alleged minimal efforts......who could still be in the mix legally, especially now that he is not getting much public support.

In a case like this I wonder if they get Sandusky's computer? I am not in law enforcement but, it would be interesting if they search his house too. Seems like there is probable cause to search....

Time for Joe Pa to go, no ifs ands or butts. No pun intended.

This whole issue is sick and looks as if Joe Pa didn't push harder on this due to he was a friend, IMO. Not a good way to go out Joe, you waited too darn long.

What is even more disturbing is that 2002 incident probably would not have occurred if the 1998 incident had been handled properly.

You have two eye witness accounts (the gradudate assistant and a janitor) of the this piece of scum sexually assualting little boys and he is still allowed to continue his sick ways. Come on Penn State... where is your moral compass? The young boys were failed on so many levels.

and then PSU President Graham Spanier cancels today's press conference scheduled for 45 minutes from now! Apparently there are hundreds of media members lined up for the presser and they were JUST informed (less than an hour before conference) that Spanier canceled it.

Paterno I imagine is getting help from legal counsil now and needs to find out how legallyin the the clear he is, if he is. From what I gathered from the state attorney's news conference when this began, was that he was not being looked at, at this time, due to his correct action of reporting this to his boss. But that could change, so Paterno and co. need to find out more before sending him out to answer a bunch of questions. Putting a lid on everything from his conference call outset might anger the national press, which they don't want to do and raise more suspicion with the moral side of the issue which will be his downfall imo.

New York Times saying Joe is gone. Matt Millen saying if this is true all the way from the President down to the whole staff should be gone, Matt got emotional live on the air,,but he said Joe is the head coach, and is in trouble."

There is just no end to the complications of this story. I read this morning that the Attorney General who knew about the situation (but did not press charges) went missing and is believed to have committed suicide. He also destroyed his computer prior to vanishing.

Matt Millen is another State Penn crony, part of the good 'ol boy network that is a lying piece of garbage. He was informed, as a board member of charity, in 2008 that Sandusky was no longer allowed to be alone with any of the foundation's children due to a lengthy list of allegations of child molestation.

Millen, much like Joe Pa, came out this week to tell us all how shocked he is that Sandusky was arrested and how you really don't know someone no matter how long you've been friends and peers.

Reportedly Sandusky currently lives within 50 yards of an elementary school and he has a plain view of the school grounds from his deck and upstairs windows.

Though he has not been charged with a crime, Paterno is facing a massive backlash over his immediate response to learning of Sandusky's alleged sexual abuse of a child in 2002. In a front-page editorial Tuesday, the Harrisburg Patriot-News called on Paterno and Spanier to resign.

According to the indictment, Paterno notified athletic director Tim Curley after a then-graduate assistant on his coaching staff reported that he witnessed Sandusky having sexual intercourse with a boy in the Penn State locker room shower. Sandusky was no longer a coach at the school, but had access to the locker room as part of a non-profit organization he ran for at-risk children.

Paterno's legal requirement was to notify his superior, but on Monday Pennsylvania state police Commissioner Frank Noonan suggested there was a "moral responsibility" for the coach to make sure police were contacted.

This was not reported as horsing around.

The indictment says that "Paterno notified athletic director Tim Curley after a then-graduate assistant on his coaching staff reported that he witnessed Sandusky having sexual intercourse with a boy in the Penn State locker room shower."

You know who else should commit suicide? The graduate assistant. He should seriously just choke himself till he dies. Having had some time to think about how I would have reacted at 18 let alone 28 if I had witnessed what this coward witnessed. My first reaction would have been to beat the living crap out of Sandusky even if I knew I could not beat him in fight. There is no way that I could see what he saw and not seriously want to harm him. I could and would sooner forgive a man for murder than I could for harming a child. Having a 4 year old son myself it breaks my heart to think about that happening to any child.
