IMO, its sad that it came down to this because if an isolated action by a jerk last year.
To let the nation tell it, OUR FAN Harvey Upchuck did it. At least that's what they claim on Roll Tide/War Chicken:rolleyes:

Then for him to try and say he felt it was "on him" to do something just makes me laugh and KNOW he's a certified MORON!

I consider myself one of the biggest Bama fans around, but for anyone to think they should poison trees and almost poison water supplies, etc. because someone taped a $cam jersey to Bear's statue is no reason for me to go and break the law and then try to make people think I was right in doing so. He knew by calling Finebaum he would become a "star" in his mind, and that's why he did it.

Poison water supplies? Really? He didn't back up a damn fire tanker truck to the trees and start spraying away.

Yes there was a risk of the Spike getting into the water supply. It doesn't take much dude, it's not like anything you spray around the house:rolleyes:

It can contaminate groundwater
However, tebuthiuron is considered a significant threat to groundwater, as it moves easily through wet soil

I know all about Spike. Getting into groundwater and poisoning it are MILES apart from each other.

EDIT: On top of that, after he called into Finebaum and bragged about his misdeeds, an Auburn professor tested the soil and did not detect Spike at all due to the fact that the concentration was so low. He did not risk "poisoning" the water supply. Spike is effective and it is selectively used (including near water sources). It's the amount and concentration concern that makes it illegal for consumer use. Some idiot at some point somewhere took 500 gallons to kill a sapling, and Spike showed up in the water supply, so it was banned (like every other effective chemical that has been overused).

The amount he could have used and remained unnoticed wouldn't even come close to poisoning the water supply, even if trace amounts of it did show up.

Trace amounts in ANY water supply is poisoning the supply. I guess you believe all the warnings that it's safe to humans as well?

And we DON'T know how much he used. So I still stand by my statement that he came close. I never said he did.

I checked when the thread was first posted and there was already toilet paper in it, not sure where or who it came from though.

Well, my opinion and science clearly aren't going to agree with your opinion, so there's no point in continuing to argue it. Regardless, trace amounts does not equate to poisoning; it never has, and it never will. The amount of any substance that is considered harmful to humans is no longer considered "trace."

They showed the trees during the game and there were a few pieces to paper in them then. Must have been leftover from last week. Do they really roll the trees when they beat an FCS team, even one coached by one of their all time heroes?
