No, there has been a lot of support from the media for Bama to be ahead of Okie State. ESPN/ABC have been especially supportive. More $$$$
I agree...

I appreciate Brad Nessler and Todd Blackledge discussing this with logic for whoever is still watching this pathetic game to hear.
WE BLEW IT.A note to all you "we had our chance" folks...
THAT'S NOT THE FREAKING POINT.
The purpose of the BCS is to match up the two best teams. The voters are ethically bound to make that consideration. If they honestly think OSU is better, then so be it. But the neverending talk on Twitter, talk radio and op-ed pieces for weeks is about the "interesting" match up between the Pokes and the Tigers. That's what has me upset, and it should have you upset, too. Don't denigrate your own team by suggesting we somehow blew it. Yes, we put ourselves in this position, but the position we're in shouldn't disqualify us, especially juxtaposed against a team, no matter how flashy the offense, that lost to a 6-6 Iowa State.
That isn't true - most have said that they feel that Alabama is the 2nd best team. The only problem has been that some are against (1) a rematch, (2) 2 teams from same conference in BCSCG or (3) a non-conf champion.
That's what I've been screaming. You're supposed to vote for the 2 best teams; not the matchup you want to see, not to vote against a rematch, not who's offense is better. If the voters truly feel that OSU is better than I'm cool with it. But if they vote that way and bring up the fact that they didn't want to see a rematch then I'm gonna be really ticked off!
If it'll make you guys happier, there's a good football game being played with MSU and Wisc. 36-34 at the moment.
Very good point. One thing to think about is very few west coast voters are gonna put Stanford behind OSU.
WE BLEW IT.
GET OVER IT.
We had the chance to remove the SUBJECTIVE aspect of the BCS from the picture, and we didn't do it.
THAT is the point.
Has we handled our business, we wouldn't have to worry about the subjective voters.
But we do.
No matter how much you believe Bama is the best or second best team in the country, it doesn't matter. once we lost on 11/5, we left it in the hands of other folks
So yah, we blew it. Any argument otherwise is merely emotion.
That's the problem - some of you are viewing it as a 'right' and 'wrong' issue - it's not. It's subjective.Unfortunately, that's the society we live in today. Who cares what's right? What do I want?
after losing 8 straight to the Sooners, betting that OSU rushes the field at 0:00
We still get to go to a BCS bowl, went 11-1 beat Auburn in the ground at their place. I say it is a successful year....and Trent will be in new York.
I still think we are in the BCSCG but, this all true. If we do end up in the Sugar Bowl, thank goodness Houston lost so we get a better match up.We still get to go to a BCS bowl, went 11-1 beat Auburn in the ground at their place. I say it is a successful year....and Trent will be in new York.
