It's times like these that the internet is a double edged sword. We love the info (especially when it's good intel) but then the other side is dealing with all this stuff.

Just think...a few years ago none of us would have known any of these details and recruiting was basically a "one day of the year event" and that was signing day.

I'm not sure recruiting during the modern media age is good for these kids either.

It gives them a false sense of identity. The attention they get is not about them, but about their abilities. But then all this attention is misinterpreted.

The kids are the real losers here.

Yes, we need to let it go. Lets don't sound like whiners. Because "WE ARE ALABAMA" and we have CLASS. Lets show it. There are so many good players to choose from and we have the best coaches in the nation that can coach them up. Let the other athlete's hear the head roar, while we do business as usual.

Glad it happened early and not late. My only thought go to the Barn and finish no better than 4th in the West year in and year out. Come to Bama and compete for championships year in and year out.

Re: *** 2013 LB Reuben Foster Commits to Bama ***

an article stated that the tattoo was done at AU's last summer camp. I'm trying to figure out if that's the case how did word not leak. Could this have been a "setup" to make Bama look bad?

That's what it's been all along. Saban smoked it out. They wanted to wait until the dead period before NSD so they could completely copy the Yeldon incident...

Scarbo article today talks about his flip yet fails to criticize him for not keeping his word. I guess he only has a problem with it when someone flips our way, as Yeldon did.

Earl,

I have have reading Tidefans and 2 other Bama sites regarding this whole RF fiasco, I came away with concluding that RF was never truly and sincerely committed to Bama other than to be a pawn for AU to get back at Bama for the TJ Yeldon flip. RF was telling Bama Nation and the media what they wanted to hear, but his "true" actions spoke otherwise. the move to AHS and his mother's employment at AU were the red flags that many of us chose to ignore or acknowledged until last week. many on this board justified the move to Auburn from Lagrange as a logical move for RF to enroll at Bama early, be near his daughter and be close with his mother when she was employed by AU. I know there were very reliable sources who stood by their belief that RF was all Bama and was our "best recruiter". than there were other sources who warned Bama Nation that RF is not as solid as he appears. there were so many conflicting stories about his commitment, I for one did not know anymore whether what was true or false.

am I wrong on this hypothesis??

You know, I seen a picture of him back last year I believe it was and I thought that was an AU tat but I couldn't make it out very well to be sure. But that sounds like something little brother would do for revenge and is very believable. They shouldn't be messin' with coach Saban!! ;)

This. It sounds like CNS called it out and foster switched to his true "commitment" earlier than the barn wanted( if as HSV points out that they tried to copy yeldon's switch at the dead period, which seems very likely since he copied Yeldon's speech). LB depth isn't our most pressing need, so let's just move on and focus on the rest of our class.

It's not whining or a lack of class to expose Auburn and its staff and, frankly, some of its players for the bunch of liars and cheats that they are.

I am getting happier by the moment that he flipped. As much as he is a big time talent, it sounds like his heart was never Bama. Better to found out now then later. So, now Bama can go after a player who wants to be at Tuscaloosa.

IIRC, last year we really wanted Clowney. He didn't choose Bama and even took some shots at CNS in the process. Again, IIRC, he went to South Carolina and had a good year and we went to the BCS championship game and brought home another National Championship.

I hadn't realized that RF's speech mirrored TJY's. That, to me, is telling. Think about it ...

I find it unlikely that RF came up with that idea in his own. If he didn't, then only three possibilities remain: he was (A) talked into doing it by barn staff, (B) talked into doing it by a non-staff supporter with the knowledge and consent of the barn staff, or (C) handed the script by the staff, or the supporter and staff, without being told it copied TY's speech.

All three possibilities are additional (unnecessary) proof of the barn's obsessive jealousy - supporters and staff, and that their overriding goal in everything they do is to get back at who they incorrectly blame for causing all myriad problems: The University of Alabama.

What's worse, though - far, far worse - is it clearly shows that they'll use the kids in their charge to do it, even in a manner that's not in a kid's best interests. And that's not just sad. It's wrong.

Re: 2013 LB Reuben Foster Flips, Commits to Auburn

Foster was playing the long con same as Auburn. I'm not sure when this all went down, but at least as far back as the transfer to Auburn High; the staff at AU wanted his coach at the high school while the local school board was wise enough to refuse.

The kid knew what he was doing, and he's known for a long time, so frankly I'll withhold my well-wishes for someone who conducts himself with a little more integrity.

Wonder if any recruiting gurus reported on Foster's trip to Athens with Bo Scarborough recently?

Re: 2013 LB Reuben Foster Flips, Commits to Auburn

I think RF was part of a plan to pay us back for the TJ flip last year. But like Earl said Saban sniffed it out. This is from Scarbarnski column today. I'm sure there many rea$son$ that Fo$ter was willing to go along with the barn nd read the same press release as TJ.

"Foster's sincerity wasn't written on his hat Saturday. It was on his forearm in the form of an AU tattoo the size of a helmet sticker. Justin Hokanson of AuburnSports.com said Foster was inked up when he visited Auburn's last football camp of the summer."

The picture in the paper it looked like he had had it for awhile. Does anyone know when the camp was that he barner Hokanson is talking about?

Re: 2013 LB Reuben Foster Flips, Commits to Auburn

Probably CNS's sniffing out came from an inquiry of one of our true commitments who attended the "Opening" spotting the tat and asking CNS, what's up with that.
As for RF, think about it, 'towel boy' in his ear everyday telling him how entitled he was to playing time and he was going to have to wait in line at Bama. The old entitlement card was easy for him to understand.

who cares. Our kids play for National Championships and their kids play for money. I will settle for that every year.
