not meaning to hi-jack or anything or maybe the mods can start this in a new thread, as much as the burning of the barn is a beautiful thing, I don't want it to burn too fast...I kind of like chiz right where he is. I was thinking, if they implode this year and clean house and then come after our Kirby that would suck....and what would he do ?
I doubt CKS is dumb enough to take up residence at a program where he has to go against his mentor, especially given the disadvantages that are built in over there.

However, I agree on the "slow burn." I don't want to see a single-season, Dubosian Implosion over there. I'd rather see Chizik win eight games each year for a few years. That's just long enough for Petrino to do his penance and find a job at another school. Kentucky or Ole Miss, or something.

Not that I'm worried at ALL about Petrino at the barn. I just don't want them to have any semblance of hope, whatsoever. Petrino would at least bring them hope.

Instead of having them hopeful, I want their football lives to be miserable. I want to see them average the eight or so wins they have always averaged with no hope of ever climbing out of a shadow that just seems to keep growing.

Couldnt have said it any better. I want to see their program in the gutter and then we'll finally see "how great it is to be an awburn booger".

My hope is if they fire Chizik that Charles Barkley pushes them to hire a black coach and they go with Trooper Taylor.

I doubt they would come after CKS. And if they did, they would be chasing a Georgia graduate and a current Alabama assistant. Not sure he'd be all too interested in Auburn.
hate to say it but the coach they love the most was exactly what you described.

I know they have a little optimism over the first game, but a couple of the beat writer's for the Tennessean believe that the Vols would not be afraid to hire Petrino, so they could beat Auburn to the punch.

The bright spots for uɹnqnɐ is that 'Trooper' would be gone. :)
uɹnqnɐ might hire a coach with teeth too...

With some of the glowing comments about Van whatever, who was coaching these kids to pull off helements? Just a question because I do not believe they were smart enough to figure it out on their own.
