“Listen,” Dye said. “He wouldn’t be in trouble if he didn’t win another game.”
So Chizik will return no matter what?
“Absolutely,” Dye said.
So there’s no need to talk about whether Auburn might fire Chizik and hire the currently unemployed Bobby Petrino?
“Bobby Petrino

I was feeling kind of down but this news perked me right up.

I think they need to lock him down for 10 more years. No telling when a BIG time program comes after him. If he can buy a championship at a lower level SEC team just think what he could do for UCheat.

Everything just keeps looking better for BAMA. The only thing better would be to wake up tomorrow to learn of "lifetime contracts" for Chizik and Dye.

So I guess Dye is really running the football program at the barn instead of the AD and pres. Talk about a train wreck about to happen.

This season is gone for Auburn. Anything said to the media is critical. Dye is the perfect person to say the aubie spin to the media. It can always be denied as the rambling of an old guy who drinks. But, aubie MUST present a solid, coherent front publically or else verbal commits may change their mind.

Let's hope that Dye & Lowder stick to their guns and retain
Cheese Dip
.
I really like the part where they are trying to play Pro style football with Spread style players.

My favorite time of the year is at the end of the season, when they get rid of their OC & DC and move on the next flavor of the month...

Glad someone posted this already so that I didn't have to.

Coherent and Dye in the same sentence. I don't think you thought that through.

Cheezit might survive this season but if they have a losing season, his coaching seat will be SCORCHING hot next season. He's just not a very good coach but one who got freakishly lucky by signing a once in a generation QB in Scam Newton. Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Newton but if he'd have signed with Mississippi State, I honestly think he could have carried MSU to the title game.

Now is not a good time to be rebuilding in the SEC. Too many teams are too good. A team like Mizzou, which might look pretty solid in other conferences, looks weak and pathetic in the SEC.

I don't think Chizik is a bad coach - but I don't think he belongs in the SEC. When you look at his W/L record without Newton at QB, he deserves to be sent down the road. This year or next, he will eventually be shown the door. But those who hired him and were publicly ridiculed for the hire won't do so this easily. They have egos and want to be able to say, "I told you he was a great hire".
