No, not smart, for sure, and it wouldn't make much sense to me, either. Just saying that it's already known about his habit, so it could be that he wants LSU to share the blame.
well, maybe they should...at least if they played 'enabler'.

Hey, the kid's got talent and he didn't like about it. It's a risk, but I'd take a flyer on him. Sometimes, guys who get second chances give you more than anybody else. If he's cleaned up his act, then great.
I would have said, "I don't remember."
“It is irresponsible and shows a lack of integrity for anyone to disclose medical information regardless of how it was gathered,†Mathieu said. “I would expect that conversations regarding my drug testing history during the course of my medical treatment would be private. LSU has a strong drug testing program and LSU went to great lengths to help me in my treatment and recovery. I understand that many people enjoy reading about the negative side of sports, but to publish those second-hand comments without being given a chance to address that comment prior to the publication of the article is irresponsible.â€Â
More from the link I posted:I don't hear him disputing the facts. I hear him angry that the comments were leaked.
Tyrann Mathieu has contacted LSU regarding Friday’s USA Today story that included a quote attributed to him that came from an unnamed NFL Coach. Mathieu said the story does not accurately reflect the discussions that he has had while on official visits to various NFL organizations
Why would any team waste a draft pick on Mathieu.
My thoughts exactly - PR specialist and nickle or dime back...i could see using a 6th or 7th on him as a kick returner and possible nickle back.
HAHA.."Corndog" spice..We could make millions in Baton Rouge if we were chemist..LOLDoes 'spice' smell like corndogs?

Yup..I agree 100% with ya..He's a better player than Manti..I tell you what, and you can call me crazy--I wouldn't take him before the fourth round, but I'd take him before Monti Te'o. Which wouldn't be hard, since I wouldn't draft him in any round for any team.
Going to that organization would be the career graveyard for him, naturally. I just don't see him as an NFL corner. He's not quite 5'9" and they would just do to him what we did - run the tallest receiver at him and throw high...He's another Cortland Finnegan. Return skills, nothing special with the cover skills....but is chippy, gets in the opponents kitchen, and seems to always be around the ball.
Perfect fit for the Raiders.![]()
He can get a shot as an undrafted free agent. He deserves nothing more.i could see using a 6th or 7th on him as a kick returner and possible nickle back.
He wants us to believe that he said that? Should be "My agent guy wrote this down, and told me to say this."
I dunno..........he does know a lot about what is irresponsible, so I guess it is possible.
And how exactly is failing a drug test part of his "medical treatment"? Since any treatment/rehab he had was after he left. Oh, I suppose during the course of failing those 10 drug tests that he was also going through rehab.
Maybe the same team can draft him, and that guy from Nutter Dumber. What a pair that would make.
Tyrann "Honey Badger" Mathieu likely won't be a first round pick in the NFL Draft next week. But he continues to be front and center in draft talk.
Tyrann Mathieu has tried a dozen forms of therapy since drugs derailed his life, but on this morning he decides the best antidote to temptation is a long walk alone. He arrives at Pompano Beach in southeast Florida just after sunrise and parks his car in an empty lot. He pulls a hooded sweatshirt over his famous shock of yellow hair and tightens the waistband on his mesh shorts. Then he kicks his shoes into the sand and starts walking barefoot toward the surf.

The idea of a beach walk started as a recommendation from his athletic trainer -- another drill meant to prepare him for the 2013 NFL draft, another psychological exercise he initially dismissed as "pointless." But as draft day nears and his anxiety mounts, Mathieu relies on the walks as part of his routine, an escape between timed 40-yard dashes and interviews with NFL executives who want to rehash his mistakes. He has never been particularly good at dealing with stress, its effects already reducing him from a 2011 Heisman Trophy finalist to a recovering addict with an arrest record. The walks are part of his rehab, what he calls his Phase 2, and he says they have helped him stay sober for three months and counting.
Is it possible he stopped counting after 10 because he doesn't know what number comes next?
It could well be that a portion of those failed tests were for spice before spice became illegal and before the testing companies had gained complete confidence in the accuracy and precision of the test results (re Auburn's excuse). If that occurred, then LSU would not be as blameworthy.
