****Bama vs. CSU Postgame Thread****

Re: ****Bama vs. CSU Game Thread Postgame Thread****

With the blatant attempt to not establish a running game or do much of anything schematically. I'm convinced this was our gameplan. I'm just not sure what we were trying to accomplish tonight with playing as we did.

Now we see what coach has been battling : sleepwalking through. Lack of intensity and focus for most of the game. Although the demeanor on the sidelines seemed to say that this was planned. Saban was not very intense or demonstrative on all those failed third down attempts. No major injuries, penalties were acceptable, and new guys got experience. All good.

Played less than our A-Game and still nearly beat the spread. Some of us may be underestimating Coach Mac and say what you will, those CSU kids came to play ball. They caught us a little flat footed and in between a heart stopper and Ole Miss. Still I saw AJ toss a few "play on Sunday" passes, Chris Black score a TD, Christion continue his break out season as a receiver, Kenyon Drake's speed, more great special teams play and a Bama win.

One thing I finally learnt this game, us Bama Fans, are the most spoiled fan base in college football..We win the game, but, reading the thread throughout the game, you would think, we lost the game or was losing the whole game..Gotta love "The Process"..LOL

1. We won
2. We had no injuries (that I am aware of)
3. LOTS of new faces got experience
4. Coach Saban isn't happy

How could one possibly complain with those results after the third game of the season?

Do we have any injuries that we know of?

also who was Jackson at the end on defense?

Freshman Eddie Jackson. Picked him up late in recruiting from down in the Miami area. Stellar athlete who could have played either offense or defense. Many teams backed off because of grades, but he took care of his business and we're the beneficiaries. He's gonna be a great one

After last weeks exciting game, I'm ok with having a "boring" game this week. Win is a win and let's move to Ole Sis.

Good to see the emergence of OJ and L Collins. Proud of K Drake too. Frankly though I'm wondering if anyone else showed up tonight. When you only suit up 12 times in a sport in a given season, I don't understand how you cannot be 'up' for a game.

Lots of new faces tonight that I thought played well, but also caused some busts. Maurice Smith, Jackson, and Sylve all played significantly in the secondary. Allen and Robinson are going to be special on the DL.

We finally got to see Black's speed.

Drake gives us a serious speed threat. He needs more touches.

The more I see Sims on the field, the more comfortable he looks. He gonna be the starter next year.

Too many young guys had to play in the secondary. Offense never in sync, no rhythm in the play calling.

I'm really only concerned with the guys that are hurt, especially in the secondary. Hopefully, they will be ready to go next week.

We have a game or two like this every year. It is what it is.

Remember when it came out that Bama fans were "bored" with winning. Well I now agree with that, it seems too many take winning a game for granted.

I suppose that's a good way to put it. The problem is CNS hasn't been happy (and not even close) for the way we played in each of the 3 games so far. We're not really improving. I think maybe we win a close one against Ole Miss. We'll do ok probably until we play LSU. And then we're going to get it handed to us.

I'd take a boring win over a loss every week, if we win ugly the rest of the year and win the National Title I would have no problems with it.

I say this partly in jest, but the thing that comes to mind for me is that Alabama played like they bet on Colorado St. The game was never in doubt, but they really didn't seem to be trying to put them away all that hard.
