Probably injured it kicking himself for fumbling.

HAHA..I imagine his ego is going to take a pounding & will be on injured reserve after Coach Saban gets through with him in practice this week..I love TJ & think hes a great RB, there's no sense in holding the football as loosely as he does running the ball, it's been a problem since he's been at Bama & the same goes for Drake as well..

This might be just a bit off-topic, but I hear a lot of talk about "Style points" and how they figure into a team's ranking. I for one look at this game and every other game we've played since CNS has been here. When your team has 1st and goal from inside your opponent's red zone, and you take a knee instead of trying to score, that's what I call style! Style points or not, I love having the type of coach that has the class to not want to run up the score on teams when the game has already been decided.

I thought maybe it had something to do with it, but I can't say for sure. I'd like to hear what others think about it...

I agree with TideMan, Kelly IMO was out played last night. I also believe AK, Shep had subpar games as well. However, Drake and TJ needs to do a better job holding on to the ball. I believe other teams will start tackling the ball because our inability to hold on to the ball.

Great assessment BamaReb! I would have loved to see 34-0 game, bottom-line, we won with style/class.

This week will probably be more like a bye week, with the Alabama team focused on healing and getting back to fundamentals. You will still watch game film on your opponent and prepare for them, but you will be more inwardly focused. You then get to hone your edge against an opponent only slightly more dangerous than a bye week. The best of both worlds at this point in the season.

Meanwhile Auburn gets a week off after a huge emotional win. I buy the "momentum" argument, but the bye week will kill that and emotional wins like this often hurt a team.

A long winded way of saying that I still expect a huge Alabama win at Auburn in two weeks.

Agree about the bye week for AU. I think they would be far better served playing and I am SURE glad Bama has to play again. It is very tough to get up emotionally for every single game. Don't think it will be a problem in two weeks.

I'd say Kelly and Arie really struggled. AK at
Least picked it up at points whereas RK seemed to revert back to VT game form. I'm sure it will be a painful film session. The MSU Dline did play well and they deserve credit too.

Lot of questionable calls by referees, and all I can say this.. I'm glad this happened against MIss State, not Auburn or LSU. Every loss we had were coming out of emotional game... ONe were against LSU and one were texas A and M. This time is little different, but after an emotional game, we tend to struggle the following game and then come back strong the game after that.

Defense came to play last night. Thru last nights game MState avg a total of 411.3/game total offense, 232.7/game total passing, and 158.3/game rushing. We held them to 144 yds passing and 53 yds rushing. They only had one drive for over 50 yds which ended with a missed FG. We had 4 turnovers which should have given them emotional lifts yet our defense held. Really proud of our D.

I always thought that everyone including the team was focusing on the Boogs rather than the task at hand (MSU). I am not surprised that our performance yesterday was not up to our usual standard. I think we can focus on the iron bowl now since we have a lesser opponent coming up this week. Hopefully UTC runs a spread hurry up offense.

You know every team goes thru something like this in a year of football, getting a Win is a Great thing so don't discount the Win.

I would really have liked to see AJ have a light em up night, that would have put him on the Heisman spotlight because of the game being prime time?

Cooper, Vogler, Norwood did an outstanding job.
i don't know why the other receivers had problems but way to many drops & wrong routes.

The O line for the most part gave AJ time but the run blocking was not what we have seen early, however if we ever want to complain just look at Georgia, & that will change.

I know some are not going to like this but we do have a problem holding on to the football. It's not getting better. We have 2 Great backs, but they can not fumble the ball. I don't know the answer but someone on the coaching staff does.

With all that said I am grateful for the ROAD WIN!

Now I really feel we can go all the way & no matter who we get in the SECCG we will have their number.

Wow, after seeing some of the posts from last night I'm glad I don't post DURING the games. I would have probably gotten banned last night after seeing the "we're doomed" thread about us being nervous against the barn.

Yea we played horrible, but am I worried? HA!

If you are worried about this pitiful barn defense and their shake and bake offense then I say go root for the extension center.:biga2:

What do y'all think about how Kelly played at the C spot tonight, I thought he got manhandled all game long, and our run game suffered cause of it..I sure wished Coach Saban would've put Lindsey into the game & see how he would've done..What do y'all think..
Everyone watching at our house last night said the same thing. Kelly got manhandled. Chad Lindsey needs to be the starting center against the Barn. Period. I hate to say it, but the O-Line started to gel when he came in and replaced Kelly. But, hey, I'm just a little female fan in South Alabama coaching from my sofa. Sigh.

Happy for this win and very happy to be 10-0!! RTR!!

i'd like to know what the deal is with Jackson and Smith not being able to play in the position of Cyrus Jones. Jones hasnt been consistent at the CB position. i'm more worried at that CB spot than the C spot

This game is befuddling. On paper, we dominated. TJ has a buck-sixty on the ground. BUT the run game was absolute feast and occasional famine. Their DL dominated all night and the majority of TJ's yardage came on a few times where we bust their movement at the snap. Too many TFLs, sacks, and hurries. One of the interceptions was a blatant miss by the entire SEC officiating crew in Starkville last night but the other was exactly what happens when a line is getting beat.

Things must improve because Auburn's DL is vastly underrated around the league and only starting to get appreciated. They could put a real assault on our offense with front four pressure if we don't clean things up on the OL. Georgia demonstrated that you can to hit Auburn quick with slants and bubble screens to make that comeback. Of course, if we don't get hands on the DL at the snap, they're going to get a ton of PBUs trying to do some of that.
