The math works out in such a manner that Saban has been worth at least double what he's been paid. Yes, Alabama should pay ten million a year if that's what it takes to keep Saban, because he's worth it. Others are worth something as well, but there's no other coach in the country that I could imagine coming in under the same circumstances and winning two national titles, much less three. This isn't about getting 10 wins, or going to a bowl game. This is about championships, and Nick Saban is the only guy out there that actually provides a high probability of winning those.why are we not allowed to have different opinions than that we must mortgage everything to keep saban? There are other good coaches out there that we can replace him with. If he was going in conference to say UGA,LSU,TAMU, or one of the other SEC schools then yes pay at all costs. The only way we will face him is in the playoffs now
I think anyone that wouldn't want Nick Saban to earn 10 million, if that's what it took, either doesn't fully appreciate the difference he's made, or simply doesn't care. Remember, Nick Saban is only going to earn that money as long as he's the head coach, it's not like he's being given 100 million and told to do what ever he wants.
