*** LB Rashaan Evans Signs With Alabama ***

His Mom looked like someone who knew her son was about to get bashed by a whole bunch of people. She was right about it, too. Rashaan and his Dad are being blasted around here. People are accusing Alan of secretly hating Auburn because he got be beat out by Bo when he played there, and saying Rashaan would have been a "quitter" like his dad anyway. It's a pretty disgusting display of barner class by the fambly.

Just a few examples of what I have seen on my FB account and local radio today. These are from ITAT:

As of today, alan evans' name is not capitalized. He has lost the right to that.

This is the one time I can see that allowing a former athlete to come back and earn an Auburn degree on the Auburn dime was flushing money down the toilet.

Alan Evans, you are a disgrace.

his *** would be hunting another one in the morning, if he worked for me.....the whole family should be shunned by this (response to the question of what Alan Evans does for a living)

His mom works for Synovus in Columbus. She's on an advisory board at AU. It will be interesting to see if she resigns from the board (she should) or if she continues to "support" Auburn while his son doe everything he can to hurt our school.

evans family ....please move to tuscaloosa. where you all belong. no hard feelings

Loser pappy can't even begin to tote Bo Jackson's jockstrap

Loser dad been waiting 30 years for this.

I heard another one on a radio show say today that he knows where live, and that he will be "warching very closely" to see if Alan Evans buys a new car or anything expensive in the next few weeks.

Would be hilarious if a relative dropped off a new car to let him drive around in it for a few days

Because Alabama had wrapped up so much of our class already Evans was my wish list today. I had pretty much all but conceded him to Auburn. So happy and so impressed after watching all his interviews. I do worry about him and his family now having to live down there though. There is a LOT of bitterness and hate coming from the auburn family. Classless.

You got that right.

Kid should be able to play where ever he wants....without any grief from (so-called) fans.

Some people need to get a life.

The barn fans reaction to all of this is just plain childish. I hope we all remember this day if the shoe is on the other foot down the road and a "guaranteed bama prospect signs with the barn". It is crazy to to think that this family will not be able to go out anywhere without being harassed which is truly sad.

it's really sad but still hilarious how Aurbren speaks so highly of a highly rated guy they think they will get until he signs with Bama. Then he goes from having high character and a great family to no charater, no class and the family creating a circus atmosphere. it's like clockwork.

I wouldn't expect anything less from Barners, you would think with their success last year, they would act better, just cause a recruit made a decision that's best for him & not what's best for them...As that old saying goes "Act Like You've Been There Before", only problem with that, is The Barn hasn't been there enough times for them too act like that..Once a Barner, alwsys a Barner.LOL

The ITAT reaction was more ridiculous and sad than I expected. They really have some disturbed folks on that board. I had forgotten how bad they can be. Just awful !

Funny thing is that often happens at this time because
(a) Their son just accepted a full ride to college, which some parents were saving for, and
(b) It's tax refund time

It'd sure be funny in this case. Not that the Evans' haven't expected a full ride for some time now.

The barner reaction is so strange since they are all CEOs of engineering firms and not jealous, paranoid, loser rednecks. Really strange reaction.

As an owner of an engineering firm in AL, the funny thing is, owners of engineering firms in AL are owned by a disproportionate percentage of Alabama grads ;)

Yeah, I'm still waiting for the explanation over on ITAT how Bama fans - who apparently are all impoverished sidewalk alumns - can afford to bribe recruits, HS coaches, the media, the SEC office, the NCAA, etc. We must be paying them in firewood and pecans. ;)

Close. It's the pecans.

A client and I take off the boxing gloves when discussing Alabama/Auburn football. We have a good time and no one gets their feelings hurt. For context, the Monday morning after the UCLA game in 2000, I get a call. He asks me what's the difference between Alabama and Dale Earnhardt? Earnhardt is still #3. So, in the midst of the Albert Means fiasco, this guy calls and we're chatting about a project. He later mentions being torn between purchasing a minivan and an SUV because of the upcoming birth of their first child. I tell him that my business partner has a (whatever vehicle we allegedly bought Means) that he needs to sell and that it would be perfect for their family. He sounds interested. I then add that the only problem is that it needs to be a cash sale and we need to find a way to make the paperwork invisible. There is a very, very long pause, but he's still interested. I finally let him off the hook, but he did actually think it was the same vehicle and that it had bounced back into my business partners ownership thanks to the NCAA. I still tease him about it.
