*** LB Rashaan Evans Signs With Alabama ***

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

I'll be sure to remember how they're treating the Evans family. It'll come in handy when they spout off about fambly, but it's really gonna make for a fun interaction the next time one of 'em refers to me as a Harvey.

Oh, the joy. :)

Yea it's funny how they claim we are the crazy ones yet the things I read on there yesterday was nuts. I found out where his Mom works within 10 minutes and I wasn't even looking for her!

Family my............!

I'm real amazed at the situation surrounding the Evans family and I honestly think Evans made the right choice and you would think everyone out there would respect him. I saw a post by someone yesterday stating that they hope he catch stds, because he deserve it for signing with Alabama. Did it really have to go that low? That was real messed up and I didn't find it funny anymore. I feel embarrassed for the state of Alabama and Auburn people. Mr and Mrs. Evans did the right thing by supporting their son, and knowing that whatever makes him happy, will make them happy. I can't believe that they have to endure this for long time. I wouldn't be suprised if they got up and moved. There are some juniors at Auburn high school who is considering Auburn, and they see the negative impact and That's not a good thing. Now, as far as the rumors going on with former Auburn coaches whispering into his ear.. I"ll say this: I'm not going to touch this one. Its just a rumor. Lot of stuff we hear areprobably just a rumor.

We now have some breaking images as to the reaction on the plains. These here photos were taken the exact moment that Evans spurned the fambly to go them Bammers. Here were their responses:

some of the comments:

Most of the guys mentioned (Ray Drew, Lattimore, Darby, Yeldon, Calloway, etc.) may have been considered Auburn leans at some point during the process, but none of those guys were considered to be locks to Auburn when they made their final decisions. Most of those recruits were close races. I cannot remember a guy in recent history that was thought to be an Auburn lock and then committed elsewhere. If Evans commits to Bama on NSD, I think that would safely be considered the biggest upset, at least in recent history.

Comment about Yeldon by prominent ITAI poster
Personally I am glad we missed him. He is talented but he does have a tendency to lay the football down on the turf. It looks as though he may have been relegated to #2 if what Henry did in the Sugar bowl is any indication. Glad we missed out on Foster as well for different reasons.

Comment about Foster
Foster shocked me most. The tattoo seemed like a lock. (Of course the REC using his father kind of makes it understandable.)

I agree with your conclusion. I tend to get aggravated when people act like lil nick is stealing players left and right from AU. It hasn't happened. In fact over the last 5 years, AU has actually gotten more players that it has offered that bama offered also. WDE

Clearly. No doubt this was a big miss.

I will seriously temper ANY enthusiasm I get from "insider" comments in the future.

Hate to say this, but my info had been saying RE to UAT for the past couple of weeks. Look at my previous posts about RE. Hate to be right on this one. UAT got a good one. This really hurts Auburn.

Seems to me the Evans family played the AU coaching staff like a cheap fiddle. Too bad, too, but his dad put his son in the exact same position he was in when he signed at Auburn. I'll be surprised if he sees much early PT with 15 or 16 other LBs on bama's depth chart.

How our "insiders" miss on an Auburn legacy in our backyard is absurd. We either got played or the insiders know even less than they say.

Also, Auburn fans should be really upset with a former coach who I will not name who influenced RE to UAT....

Grady? and King? Over on BOL have been calling Evans to ...... since last weekend! And, they were posting detailed info over there...
How do ...... insiders get this inside info, when our insiders tell us not to believe that crap...? 4 years straight????

Not getting in the family thing because it will not be tolerated here, however, I know for a fact a certain or two former coaches were in RE's ear during the whole time telling him not to go to Auburn....

Yep, I'm not going to sweat losing this guy. look at previous guys that tried to play our staff. TJ and CK have been good but Foster, Liner, Calloway etc haven't done jack squat.

He played everyone. "Insiders" hear what coaches are being told. When a kid tells a coach that he's coming and that trickles down to "insiders", that is what gets reported to you.

Believe it or not kids lie. We already had a Rashaan Evans profile up on the Auburn site, don't you think that is odd unless they had very good indication that he was coming?

This is but a few.

Just curious, who are the former barn coaches mentioned above? Sorry, I see now.

This may be the funniest one I've seen yet!

Know this. Gus. Will NOT be fooled again.

It will not happen.

This man things strategically better than any coach I've seen in the last nearly 15 years.

Gus will adjust his strategy. He is a good Christian man who thinks the best in people. Saban exploited that fact.

Gus will not be made the fool anymore.

It's sad that they believe this stuff.

Let 'em keep talking & flap their toothless gums all they want about a kid that's a defensive star, that wants to play for the best defensive minded coaches in the game today, he wants to play in the NFL, and Coach Saban is the absolute best HC to guide him..All the bad mouthing does is make them look bad to future recruits & their parents..It helps them none at all & makes it harder for The Barn's coaching staff to sell their supposed "Family Atmosphere" in Lee County..So flap those toothless gums Barners cause you're hurting y'alls cause more than helping ya idiots..

One problem that effects their fans that follow recruiting is their poor recruiting gurus who tend to preach that all players with an au offer and that actually visit a lock. They refused to believe that Evans was legitimately interested in ua. You could have learned as much from checking the posts from a few of our posters and not pay a dime for it.

You know back in the 80's the stadium seemed nicer than most, but they have never upgraded in any way. 85K just seems small now.

It may seem small, but frankly I think the size is about right. FWIW, I think the 100,000+ seat stadiums are just excess capacity given current pricing structures (and that includes our own). It's great for impressing recruits and that type of thing, but I'd say a stadium capacity of about 90,000 is the feasible max, and for a program like Auburn, if anything, it's probably closer to 80,000. Despite their constant back-patting over the Auburn allegiance, AU has always had a problem filling Jordan-Hare except for really big games, even at around 87,000 seats. For their "normal" games, it's nothing uncommon to see 4,000 or 5,000 empty seats.

No doubt, though, that Jordan-Hare is in need of some renovations. They have a great in-stadium atmosphere in big games, but it's a fairly outdated venue at this point. Truth be told they should have taken all of that money they wasted on the new basketball arena and put it into the football stadium.

One more note: That video someone posted several pages back of the reaction of the Auburn coaches, that's almost just painful to watch. I like to hate on Auburn as much as the next guy, but you almost have to feel for the coaches in a situation like that. Obviously can't say I've got first-hand knowledge, but that has to be just absolutely dejecting. A couple of those guys looked like someone had just ripped their hearts out and stomped on it.

True but it happens in all facets of life. It's like working on a presentation for months working extreme hours and then the account decides to go with another company. I know that feeling.
