I`m first in line for hoping Cam gets back sometime in the next 3 weeks. Let`s assume he can`t. I was unable to watch almost all of the game after Cam got hurt. How did LB do at LT? Strengths and weaknesses from those in the know re: OL play? With the time that the bye provides, can he work in to be at least satisfactory, if not better, at OT?

He seemed to do fairly well, but I won't know until I rewatch the game...

Re: Leon Brown as Our LT for the Rest of the Year..

I thought he did a fine job at left tackle. better, than he did at right guard. there were no rushes at blake sims during his assignment. I think Bozeman is becoming a key off lineman, playing center, and guard as needed. I also saw a big whiff by shepard again, that got blake sacked.

Sims' sack in the 4th, killing a drive at the ut 45 came from the the back (left) side, iirc.

Leon did seem to do pretty well. I mentioned last night on another that until he came here, he had always played tackle, so maybe that is a more natural position for him. I have to say that I was shocked when I initially saw Leon slide over to LT when Cam went down. It just goes to show you how meaningless a depth chart is, because almost everyone would have pegged Grant Hill or Dominick Jackson as the 2nd string LT.

Re: Leon Brown as Our LT for the Rest of the Year..

Might have to do with knowledge of the pass pro adjustments or something in the gameplan? He didn't play poorly but we also didn't pass much in the second half either.

Re: Leon Brown as Our LT for the Rest of the Year..

I'm watching the tape. Brown is better at where Cam is... much better.. I think he never was comfortable playing on right side... Now that he moved over to where Cam is, I think this creates opportunities for Bozman, Jackson and Hill to play in the game against LSU. There is no way he'll recover in time for LSU game.

So if Leon is LT who fills in at RG? Taylor or Bozeman??

Last night it was Bozeman, which is odd since Leon and Shank were switching spots at RG earlier in the season and Bozeman has been at center.

Jackson apparently isn't ready as we thought.... I think we'll be okay with Bozeman or HIll.

The one good thing is that several off our limeman are crossed trained to play both guard and tackle. So when a player like Cam does go down it hurts but it is not totally devasting. We just have to shufle things up and keep plugging until we get Cam back which hopefully will be in two ot three weeks.

Bozeman did look a lot better than Shank has though. I think Bozeman earned playing based on how he played the last 2 weeks. I honestly thought he looked better than Kelly did. Kelly still struggles at time getting a lot of push on running plays, but he is a pretty good pass blocker, and he snaps the ball cleaner than Bozeman.

I really think Bozeman is going to be a very player for us before it's all said and done. I believe he will be a starting guard next year.

Shepherd has been playing significantly hurt. Maybe he'll be healthy for LSU...

Well, I guess we still have a shot at having 4 of our 5 best OL on the field. I know how good Cam is, but for this time of year, that`s pretty good. I would hazard a guess that by now most everybody has starters banged up.
