First Playoff Poll Released (predictions - first 5 pages; analysis - page 6 -...

Not trolling, just being realistic from what I saw last year. Notre Dame is not in a conference, so they are exempt. Serious question. What conference champ do you think the committee would leave out to take Bama if we don't win our conference?
A 2 loss FSU. FSU could beat Clemson and then lose to UF. Same thing could be said for any of the other conferences. You really shouldn't use absolutes when they are so easily proved wrong..

Re: Tonights the first Playoff Poll release. What's YOUR prediction.

I agree, and given that resume I would actually support it. But I don't think it happens....
I think Stanford would have to lose another game (Notre Dame?) for it to happen. Or, the Big 12 would have to have a two-loss champ (possible but unlikely). If they win the SEC AND one of these two scenarios don't occur, I believe Memphis gets in provided they run their schedule. The committee seemed to clearly favor an undefeated Memphis team over two-loss teams.

Wouldn't it be something if the playoff looked like this...
* Undefeated Big 10 team
* Undefeated/one-loss ACC team
* Undefeated/one-loss Big 12 team
* Undefeated Memphis (over two-loss Stanford/Ole Miss teams)

Yes it would be but I don't see it happening. I don't see a realistic scenario where Memphis gets in, especially with the premium that this committee is obviously putting on sos

Didn't watch. And I won't with dumb and dumber on the show. They have no ability to objectively separate themselves from their biased opinion.

I ain't putting a lotta stock in this round. If we defensively dominate the bayou tiggers, as I expect, then take care of biz in StarkVegas then I'll pay closer attention.
Galloway is on the show, Danny the tard isn't. A lot of people were just linked via the feed on their Facebook from Saturday down south when he and other media went on his anti-Alabama tirade. That being said, I just mute the tv when I see either of them speaking. I'd rather invite Verne and Gary into my bedroom than say hello to Galloway or Danny boy.

Never seen a grown man pout on tv.

"I don't even know why we're doing this?" He said. Shut up and quit them you giant bag of feminine cleaning product. Geez.

When he realized OSU was 3rd and UA was 4th, it looked like he was swallowing jagged rocks. He'd been SO sure OSU was 1st and UA would be left out in all the prediction shows. The mistake he and other talking heads are making right now is that they're ranking teams including their FUTURE schedule/expected performance rather than their PAST schedule past performance. The rankings released tonight are based on what's happened in the past alone - as all polls should be (sadly they're not).

Pure and simple: win out and we're in regardless of what happens with Ole Miss.

Here's something else....the committee based our current position on the schedule we've PLAYED (past tense).

It didn't even account for the fact that Bama plays the #2 team in the nation this weekend.

Have you looked at Memphis' schedule? They still play a one-loss Navy (Saturday), a potential undefeated Houston, and a potential one-loss Temple before possibly facing a two-loss east division foe (Cincy or Temple) in their championship game.

If they remain undefeated with that schedule they should trump a two-loss champ from a conference with a championship game - especially if it's Ole Miss.

Nor a probable top 15 team in a 7-2 MSU team.

Danny and Galloway so mad haha

Does Danny realize that FSU"s out of conference schedule consist of Texas State, USF and Chattanooga? The only other ooc game is Florida which will probably beat them silly.

I'm pretty speechless about this!
Agree w ya, Moon!

Was out this evening, so, apart from a text from a buddy, am only now starting to process this...

That being said, isn't being "pretty speechless" analogous to being "kinda pregnant"... :)

The only reason they put Bama at 4 was to make this weekend's game with lsu even more hyped.
That was my exact thought. The committee understands the business side of this, and having Bama and LSU both in the top 4 is a win/win. It creates a lot of discussion nationwide, it builds a ton of hype for this weekend, and it's safe because you know one of those two teams will be eliminated.

Of course I was happy to see us there, but at this point I view it as little more than a clever marketing ploy. Well know more next Sunday.

Re: Tonights the first Playoff Poll is released - YOUR prediction? (update: Bama #4)

Seems the committee is setting the stage for various scenarios involving the winner of lsu/BAMA winning out and meeting the winner of an ole miss/UF SECCG in the CFB playoffs.

Why in the heck are so many people over at ESPN pretending like Alabama's SoS isn't top 10? Their SoS is silly high, their schedule is very hard. They can talk about SoS, but when it came to Alabama they just forgot how to use the word, or what it means. Pretty poor journalism.

Anyway... here's a couple bold predictions.

A: Ole Miss will not, will not jump Alabama unless Alabama loses again. Period. The SEC would be left out in the cold completely before Ole Miss gets in, in that scenario.
B: Notre Dame is not jumping Alabama unless Alabama loses. They just lack the ammunition. Alabama has Miss. State and LSU coming up, Notre Dame doesn't have an answer for that.
