12/5 games of national importance catch-all thread

Cook will be playing on Sundays, but neither of teams has the caliber of player that Alabama has. Guess what? No one else does, either.

Please. There are several team who have legitimate playmakers: Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma etc. I don't see a single player on offense between these 2 teams that can make an impact. It's kind of sad..

Either one of these teams would do very well in the SEC this season.

So you don't like them. Fine by me.

My comment doesn't have anything to do with the SEC. You brought that into it. Iowa and MSU are very good defensively but I'm just underwhelmed by the lack of playmakers on offense. It's kind of like if you were to watch Florida play Florida although I think Cook and the Iowa QB are at least serviceable. It's a shame that one of these 2 teams will be in the CFP and Ohio State likely won't. That's what I'm getting at..

As are their RBs and TEs, but they lack WRs.

I guess my point is that Ohio State is a much more talented team than either of these. It's kind of weird to watch a conference championship game when the best team isn't in it..

We can relate. Big10-4Tide probably can, too.

If not for a miracle play by Arkansas the same thing would have happened in the SEC. I am fine with it. The only way to be sure is to win all of your games.

Ole Miss and Alabama are a lot closer in talent level than Ohio State and Iowa/Michigan State. Ole Miss has 3 or 4 first round draft picks. Probably more than Alabama has..

Whatever you are trying to do - it isn't working. I am more than content with how well my Buckeyes played this season, and happy for you that Alabama is in the playoff.

This comment is always confusing to me because people want to subjectively say one team is better than another based on the eye test instead of on field results. OSU had only one game on their schedule that people pointed to all season- Michigan St. Then, MSU did not even have their top QB. What did OSU do? They lost on the field to MSU. So, how are they better? Are they a better team based on possible NFL talent? Is that it? They were not better on the field, which is why they are sitting at home.

I don't want to derail this thread but c'mon man. The better team doesn't always win the game. Texas beat Oklahoma this year but does anyone think Texas is better than Oklahoma? Stuff like that happens every year. The best team doesn't always win the game..

No, but when they do so late in the season, it has to count as if they are better. You can't just look past a win like that. They trounced us.
