Spring Practice Thread (Interviews, Press Conferences, Practice Reports)

From the article RTR91 posted, this makes me :)

However, you should know that the best player on the field Saturday was Bo Scarborough. Mercy me, that kid can run. Over. Around. Thru. Bo Scarborough can flat-out tote the rock. On his 95 yard TD run, he started to his left but cut back sharply to his right as he noticed the backside of the defense had caved in way too much. He stiff armed the end and then exploded thru the arms of Kendall Sheffield. As he stepped out of Sheffield’s corpse, Bo’s turbo kicked in and he outraced everyone the final 70 yards to the end zone. Wow. I mean, this was a WOW kind of play.

When they get 4 of the 5 OL slots sorted out ( actually, probably 3 because one slot belongs to Cam and it looks like center`s locked up ), I think the O will begin to settle in and take off. IF Bateman were to be the starter, IMHO he wouldn`t need a cannon for an arm with the weapons around him.

Just saw this tweet from Coach Dungy..Makes ya proud of our Football program..

Unbelievable facilities at Alabama. I've not seen a weight room like this!

An interesting side note would be Florida's spring game. Pineiro attempted 5 field goals, all from beyond 46 yards and he made from 46, 52, and 56. That's a little annoying...

Luke Del Rio appears to be on the inside track for the starting Florida job as well. He went 10-11 for 176 yards and 2 TDs. The interesting thing to me was that by transferring Luke Del Rio cost himself a shot at Alabama's starting job last year.
It's tough watching Eddie make those kicks cause they would have been good from 65yrds out easily..I hate he switched at the last moment, but, I'm happy for Coach Mac..I still have a ton of respect for him & hope he does great things at Florida(unless we play them)..

Keep hearing good news about Christian Miller. He had 6 tackles and 2 sacks in the scrimmage. I think we will get to see our next 'Tim Williams in waiting' this year.

Hurts has incredible arm strength and can run like a deer. His high school highlights against tough Texas High School competition was one of the most impressive I've ever seen. He also grew up the son of a coach, so he's been around the game literally all his life and has a football mind already. That puts him way in front of a lot of other "Can't miss" prospects we've had in the past.
I really think he's a difference maker and it wouldn't surprise me if he gets some playing time this year.
Yup..Coach Saban has proven time & time again as our HC, no matter the position, he's not afraid to give a True Freshmen a starting spot or give them plenty of playing time if he's earned it & deserves it..

By doing so it doesn't allow our players to get a false sense of security about their spot, if you don't work harder to make yourself better, there's younger & equal talent chomping at the bit to take your spot(including our QB's)..That's a big reason behind our success & dominant run in college football under Coach Saban..

I know this is a small sample size but it does show that there are Bama fans who prefer Barnett. I'm not sure if you'd call that obsession or not..

I reckon I'm in the minority & think Cornwell will take the job or hope he does..I keep hearing folks say he has a legit NFL arm & is really accurate throwing the ball..We shall see how it plays out in fall camp & will root on whoever wins the starting spot..

On the other hand, there is nothing more "spring camp discussion" than the QB position when the prior year's starter graduated. :D

While reading the roster for white, I thought, wow, white is gonna win for sure. Then, while reading the roster for crimson, I thought not so fast.

So, what is your prediction for the "game"? I'll go with steak for white on a pick 6.
