2017 NFL Draft Thread (April 27-29)

  • HELLO AGAIN, Guest! We are back, live! We're still doing some troubleshooting and maintenance to fix a few remaining issues but everything looks stable now (except front page which we're working on over next day or two)

Thanks for your patience and support! MUCH appreciated! --Brett (BamaNation)

if you see any problems - please post them in the Troubleshooting board!

They need to win this year or the Bears are going to fire Fox and Pace.

I agree on Fox but Pace not so sure. Put it this way, my understanding is that Pace KNEW he was going to take Trubisky in the first rd a month ago, Fox wasn't plugged into that decision till about 1.5 hours before the draft started. Suffice to say Fox is definitely on the hate seat. Pace may get one coaching hire of his choice. (Fox, if rumors are to believe was not a Pace decision.)

Trubinski has to play, and play well, or Pace is gone. Normally he would get heat for the pick at #3, but what he gave up to grab him at #2 was a whole new level of stupid. He got played on national television. All his chips are on the table.

The picks he gave up to move up a spot, he pretty much got back when he traded from 36. So all he lost was draft positioning. IMO, Pace has done enough, from a talent gathering POV, to keep his job. Fox, OTOH has done nothing with said talent Pace has brought in. Which is why I would be ok with keeping Pace and letting him pick his own coach before putting him on the hot seat.

You guys think anyone will draft Chad Kelly?

Yes. I think his injury and off the field crap was a bad combination at the wrong time. But I think a healthy Kelly could be the quarterback late round steal of the draft. I would've taken him over 90% of the quarterbacks drafted thus far based on talent alone.

Sorry, this is wrong. He could still have made that trade without the first round debacle. They should have a whole lot of extra picks (and they need extra picks).

Michigan at 10 players drafted - likely to get 3-5 more drafted from this class. :eek2:

For as supposedly "liberal" ESPN may be, they aren't so liberal to make the necessary delineation between clocking a woman in a bar and using verbal/physical violence on an emotionally attached partner. I mean, I think Mixon and Brantley were garbage people for hitting those women but it was not domestic violence which is particularly insidious in my opinion.

Not sure why you'd expect "liberal" to be relevant to this distinction, but your post certainly shows why people don't want to listen to ESPN do social commentary. They aren't qualified!

Twitter fun with porn stars is pretty toxic it seems.

The NFL network is shocking just talking about the draft and who is getting drafted and where.

They made one comment about Mixon and moved on. The comment was simple from Mayock. After seeing the video he would be off his board and then they showed his highlight reel. They did not continue to talk they actually showed Ryan Anderson's pick and highlights.

Every time I saw one of those commercials, I kept thinking she seemed familiar. Of course, I never took the time to Google it but I had seen her on TV - as Whitney Frost in Marvel's Agent Carter.

Of course, now I won't be able to watch one of those SEC commercials without "seeing" the Zero Matter (Darkforce) marks on the side of her face!
:biggrin2:
