You never really know with a Nick Saban news conference. The Wednesday before the November FCS game is a traditional minefield for a rant. (See tin horn).

Well, this one was different.

Saban was cracking himself up on the podium in a press event unlike just about every he's ever had.

If he's in that good of a mood... Mercer may be screaming "Mercy" by the end of the 1st Qtr.

Usually when he's this upbeat, it means the kids are responding well to practice.

I do agree with him on the point though. How did we get to this point?

Dunno, but back in the day, jeans like that was all ANYONE had, back in WVA.

Unless you were "rich enough" to live in what passes for a big city, in that neck of the woods.

(Probably also there, but the only time I was in the "big city" is when a family member was in the hospital.)

The torn jeans was in in the 80's also, like many fashions they come back again and again. Hip huggers hot pants etc. JUST lord do not let the leisure suits from the 70's reappear LOL OH LORD those were hideous. I am waiting for the burning bra era to come back and the 80's french cut bikini's, but many older fashions need to stay in the past. I think most can agree very few fashions from 70's aged well, leisure suits, shag carpet and some of the other bad taste fashions. Cars from early 70's are the only redeaming thing from that decade LOL

I'm guessing he saw something on his film projector about Auburn.... that he's getting ready to completely exploit.....

Nothing Coach talks about is by accident.

I'm right there with Nick on this one. I worked after school, back when there were no limits on how long. I worked till 9 or 10 at night, sometimes later, hard physical labor, and ruined everything I had because I needed the money. I too was ashamed of what I wore to school but was proud of the fact I earned my own way. Today it's in style except the work ethic.

It was said the 80's fashion was so bad it would never come back in style. Yet here we are.
