Game Thread: OFFICIAL POST-GAME THREAD - Bama vs. UGA...

Yet, they only won one title. Those were dark days for me because it seemed like every stinking year in October that we would lose to UT and then the Braves would lose in the World Series.

I felt for Elle Duncan during the Sportcenter telecast. When we tied it up 20-20 she yells "Welcome to being a sports fans from anything from Georgia, everyone. Welcome to it!"
As a life-long Braves fan, I know she was lumping them into that statement too, and it hurt.

Here’s a fun fan reaction video, especially the end!!

Oh man, this one is even better. Hint, there’s tears! Ha ha !

In, the first video, I love the two girls down bottom that are going crazy when Bama scores amidst the surrender cobras. The one UGA family is the best. The kid just turns the TV off when Bama scores :biggrin:

For me, the thing that will always make this game special is the emotion that it invoked. I have been happier and sadder, but never ridden a rollercoaster that took me repeatedly through such huge extremes like this game. When this game was over, I was a wreck, in total disbelief of what I had witnessed. I have no idea how the coaches and players are able to stay focused under those conditions.

Wow great description - the whole first v second half; the 2nd half int v get int back and score; the drive to win and the missed fg; the last two plays in OT...the roller coaster you step off of with a smile on your face

With so many posts, someone may have already referenced this, but I recall 2007 Georgia beating us in BDS, in overtime, on a long pass down the left sideline.

yes, they did beat us like that. i just watched some of the highlights from the 2015 game and had forgotten how many freshmen made huge plays in that game; ridley, d. harris, minkah, ronnie harrison.

also remembered that we had some huge pass plays to freshmen for tds in each of the games from 2008 onward. 2008, jpw to julio, 2012 aj to amari, 2015 coker to ridley and this year tua to smith and ruggs.

This may have already been said also, but we won the 2012 SEC championship over UGA on a very similar play from AJ to Amari.

The parallels go even deeper than that.
The score was identical, 26-23.
UGa missed a field goal that would have won it in regulation.
Their future superstar QB was a freshman.

Looking at the Georgia defenders after that td, I'm thinking they are not as shocked at the fact as Smith being open as they are that Tua made that throw....I just think they assumed no way ....not going to happen. I was listening to a sports broadcast out of Atlanta, they pretty much said the same thing. They're not sure how many QBs would actually throw that pass and that Kirby was figuring the left handed quarterback would most likely make a play to the flooded wide side of the field not to say the db's could not have done something different but It was just perfectly executed.

I see something new everytime I rewatch the game & celebration:

Derek Henry is there slapping Mekhi Brown on the back after he came back in and made the good special teams tackle.

Anyone else notice that when they show the replay of CNS's reaction to the TD, you can see a jubilant Shaun Alexander rushing the field to the left of the screen?

When they first show a close up of Sony Michel and Nick Chubb after the TD, you can see AJ Green standing in disbelief mouthing my favorite obscenity (no video posted because of this).

I also think it's Kenyan Drake in the tan jacket and black hat that's in the pile that meets Devonta and you can just see a smiling Cam Robinson streaking by right before Nick's postgame interview.

During the NFL Live broadcast, they comment on how there are players there that are playing in the NFL playoffs this weekend. We will be well-represented this weekend as Cam, Julio, Mark & Derek promise to play major roles for their teams this weekend.
