I would tend to agree, perhaps this is what they needed to get them to focus going forward, RTRI think the defense is a lot better than it played today.
And only 14 points against our 1st string in the first half. Arky ran plays we haven't seen on film. And they did a good job of it.Arky's first few drives were against our first string D. They need work.
They aren't a nobody offense. That QB made some very precise throws against excellent coverage. Coach Saban said they were a lot better than their record made it look.I don’t care who was playing defense, giving up 31 points to a nobody offense is a joke.
Who?Wasn't that qb new today? He was very good at extending plays.
we were going 3 and out so often due to terrible 3rd down conversion rates by the offense in 2016 and 2017 that they ought to be prepped for that quick turnaround.Bama is scoring so fast the defense barely has time for water and a meeting ...

I agree.. that's why I consider our performance on Defense to be catch-22.... it is what it is.While this is true, you won TOP by a considerable margin after the 1st quarter
LSU is the only team at this point that concerns me. But a lot of that is Baton Rouge. And I’m still not convinced about their offense. But it’s definitely shaping up to be THE game. This is such a weird feeling for me because I see a litany of problems that have landmined championship caliber teams here before. Our back seven, especially at linebacker, looks lost way too often. It ain't a footspeed problem nor starting experience issue either. Gotta lay the blame with the defensive staff leadership at some point. The kids are not really getting any better the further we get into the season. We were getting beat by the same concepts all day. Maybe they were trying to adjust but it didn't look like it in practice. So either the players are not taking coaching or the coaching they're getting ain't staying ahead of the opponent. This OL reminds me way too much of the 2013 unit for my comfort. That unit was really high quality in pass pro but couldn't move a pile in short yardage. People want to remember the 2013 Iron Bowl for the kick six but the real reason that game was lost was due to 3-4 short yardage situations where the OL flat out didn't get the job done. Placekicking, well it is University of Alabama placekicking since Tiffin graduated.
I'm really concerned about what happens when the offense inevitably runs into a defense that can cover well enough and get some pressure on our QBs. Especially if said team can maintain balance and not let our DL pin their ears back en route to the quarterback. Mizzou may be some heartburn next week but that trip to Baton Rouge is gonna be a litmus test for this team.
I’ve tried really hard to like GMac as a commentator, but I would have to agree. He tries way too hard to NOT show Bama bias.ROLL TIDE!
Offense is the best I've ever seen.
Defense needs a little work, but is probably good enough to win it all as is.
Greg McElroy flat out sucks.
