Tua's Knee

I am not a member of the Bama site on SEC rant, but I do read that board sometimes. There is a "CrimsonBoz" on there who supposedly has an inside source. He said it is a meniscus tear and he has not had it scoped yet. This guy has been right on other things in the past. Not sure if this is true, but it would be good for him to get it fixed quickly. We do need Tua to beat LSU, in my opinion. I think if LSU beats us, they will win the West and Bama will not make it to the playoffs either.
I have also read some posts on that board by "CrimsonBoz" in the past. The guy seems really reliable and when he makes a specific post about Tua's injury I am going to believe him. I don't know who his source is but I think it could be a player on the team. Right now I think CNS wants UT to assume Tua is playing so coach is downplaying it for now.

We are having a very difficult time running the ball when in first and goal situations. Our line just can't move the defensive line for running room. You can bet that Tennessee and especially LSU will stack the line against us. With Tua out, I am very concerned about our chances against LSU. We need Tua's passing to increase our odds. With that said, Tua's health has to come first. But, being realistic, we utilize the ground game more with JH at the helm. Not so confident that we can be successful trying all those running plays against LSU. That defense looked mean against Georgia.

Alabama has historically had a "jumbo" package for short yardage situations. I have no idea why you don't have one this year. It has hurt you several times this season already.

I just want to say that I do not have any healthcare or working relationship with the University of Alabama or Tua. I have not broken any of Tua's HIPPA rights because I am not his healthcare provider or have any relationship to anyone that his. The information I was given is a 2nd-3rd hand information just like Earl said earlier. I was just trying to give some insite into what could be going on with Tua's knee and my opinion of what should/could be done if the information was correct since this is a forum for discussion. Earl, if you think my post should be deleted please do so.

No worries, i didn’t mean to imply YOU did any wrongdoing. I guess I worded things wrong in relation to what I meant, but if you see in my post, I did say that it would mainly pertain to the ones in direct relation to the patient’s care. Since you said the info came from a rep, then any liability would fall on the one that leaked it out to whoever told him/her, since that made it “public knowledge”.

I'm little confused to the story regarding his knee.

1. Was it scoped or not?

I think probably not, but we won't know for sure until there's an official announcement. This passes the "rumor" phase, because it's a known that Tua has a knee injury. I would caution against the assumption that "X," posting on "X" board has always been reliable. I've been doing this for decades now and I've had the most bombproof info from the most bombproof sources turn out to be 180 degrees off. That's the reason I always caution against jumping too soon...

NOW That is a valid point.

Several of his missed throws were high, which to me is possibly attributable to not shifting weight normally when throwing

I knew something was off on his screen pass into the flats that got called back. He was basically about 3 feet high on that thrown. He's NEVER that far off target.

Thanks for clarifying...I agree there's alot of speculation going on and the there's no telling what the true diagnosis is.

One thing that I think is sure is that he hasn't had the knee scoped YET (if there is even a need). Even with our top notch medical training/recovery I don't think it's possible to have a knee scoped and play 5 or 6 days later.

It is and it should be traced back to the source and everyone along the way, including the poster here should lose their jobs over it. If you work in the medical profession you have had it beaten in your head over and over again that you CANNOT speak at all about these things. Someone always has to show they have inside info when it comes to the Tide.
How does this not violate HIPAA? I’d think the athletic trainers should be careful telling someone this info.

I suggest you back off. The poster here has not violated HIPAA, as he's explained it, nor has he committed any dischargeable offense. Now, drop it...

Didn't JT Barrett have a meniscus scoped last year and he played in that next week's game?
I've played two weeks later. Not sure it was a good idea and probably not for Barrett either. It depends on the degree of damage/inflammation, the person's innate healing rate and, finally, pain tolerance...

Do you think it would be worth sitting Tua against Tennessee? Hurts has done great work there, and perhaps a solid 2 weeks off would be beneficial. I don't think we need Tua to win there, but he can still be dressed ready to go?

Pruitt could probably GAME PLAN better for Hurts, but I think we MUST go with Hurts to give Tua a chance to heal. Saying that, HOW LONG does he need to HEAL an INJURY like that? Weeks or months?
