FYI...they did the megacast for this game again. So if you go to the ESPN app or online, you can re-watch this multiple ways. One even has it synced with Eli Gold.
That's why they didn't call it.I am watching the game again now on SEC. It is pretty clear to me that Alabama could move the ball at will and had Oklahoma stump-trained by the 2nd quarter. Saban chose to rest the defense and grind out some conservative drives until the Okies started pretending like they belonged on the field. Then, he opened up the can as necessary. The team felt the gas being pulled back and they slacked up accordingly which produced the mental errors. When it counted, they pushed Okie's nose in the grass and booted them in the behind.
btw - It is clear in the replays that Samia put the knee in Murrays face after QW ripped his hat off. Samia should have been ejected from the game for his second unsportsmanlike conduct foul.
1) most teams are overwhelmed initially when we start play. We are faster than anything they have seen, as a whole. It’s the reason for our fast starts. OU had the scheme, a freak QB, and a WR good enough to adjust.
2) Riley did attack a perceived strength in Surtain. How many targets went against Savion? our perceived weakness.
3). Mack is an enigma to me.
4). Moses was involved in play calling last night. Also went to replace miller in pass situations. Not bad plan in obvious passing downs
5). Really dismayed by the arrogance of the OU staff and the pregame antics. It rubs off on their players and their actions on the field
6). You can tell we tried to give Clemson some looks offensively to prep for and it also caused us to get a little out of sync

Just curious, what were the pregame antics and arrogance displayed by the Oklahoma staff? I watched very little of the game.
We lost four points on the stupid trio of penalties at the end of the first half.
I'm trying to calm down, and I'll say something that get me in trouble, so I'll just say this:
I have ZERO respect for OU anymore, and I will never again pull for your program for anything unless I have to do so to help Alabama. You're now in the category of Tennessee and Penn St as far as I'm concerned. The utterly classless trash that came out of the woodwork online (not so much here - and I EXCLUDE our long esteemed wishbonesooner and owenfieldreams from my anger) combined with the trashy way that guy plowed Williams, who merely had the temerity to LEGALLY hit the quarterback and the O-lineman couldn't handle that.
Kyler Murray would never make it through a season of facing SEC defenses. He would actually GET HIT repeatedly like he got yanked down early and plowed by Williams - and eventually be out. Tua got hurt because of the grind of SEC defenses aiming for his ankle (LSU, MSU) and able to hit hard (UGA). But Murray channels his inner Franco Harris and gives one to one of his slips when he's about to get creamed.
Which is why he didn't deserve the Heisman, and this game only confirmed it for me. All the comments about "not facing an offense" were so utterly clueless that I have to question whether such diplomas were earned at Neanderthal High.
Games should elicit respect, and I was raised to win and lose with class. But the garbage of the last four weeks of deriding our schedule, not having watched our games, and showing contempt deserves to be paid in kind with greater contempt.
I mean we didn't necessarily want to give up points but we made them burn a lot of clock for all 34 of their points. They were as big of a factor in shrinking the game as our run game once we got up 28-0 with 13:01 left in the 2nd quarter (43:01 left in the game). Here are the total times for each Oklahoma drive after going up 28-0:
Touchdown (28-7) - 1:13
Field Goal (28-10) - 3:14
End of Half (31-10) - 0:25
Field Goal (31-13) - 5:18
Touchdown (31-20) - 2:03
Touchdown (38-27) - 4:37
Touchdown (45-34) - 1:45
They used 18.5 minutes out of the remaining 43 minutes of the game while we only had one drive that lasted under 2 minutes in the entire stretch and only two drives that didn't end with points other than the victory formation drive. Their inability to stop our offense afforded us an opportunity to just make them bleed out the clock because they were already being held at arm distance. We may have defended different if the game were closer. The game got out of hand so quickly for OU that their offense became a glorified scramble drill for 75% of the game. This reminds me of those scrub quarterbacks in the NFL who play on a bad team but they're diamonds in the rough for fantasy owners because they pile on a lot of empty yards in the 2nd half.
He has 35 yards on the last 2 plays of the first half. The reality - he could have run a lot more but he would have run out of gas. It was hot and humid out there last night, and he was worn out as it was at the end of the game. He gave everything that he had, and it just wasn't enough.Murray grabbed up quite a few rushing yards on the last drive before the of the 1st half when Bama was doing a version of the prevent with such little time left on the clock.

That's bush league stuff which starts at the top, like from where a fish head rots from. I thought they'd grown out of being Barry Switzer U...Beamer was clapping in the faces of our players. Like hands in the face.
They also orchestrated arriving 20 minutes earlier than scheduled and blocked our entrance to the locker room
I still can't believe unsportsmanlike conduct was not called on that play. If #75 had just come over and shoved him a little, it would be one thing, but he stayed on him and was shoving Q's head into the ground. How was that not flagged? He didn’t even dress out, which was surprising since he did for the Georgia game.
Saw this earlier as a possible reason for Saban slowing up the offense some. Makes sense, too.

Some football folks seem to be fine with 75 “protecting†Kyler when Q sacked him, but there’s a major difference in protecting the QB and doing what he did.
The officials should be ashamed at how chippy the game got. As someone on Twitter said last night, they are the adults in the room that could put a stop to things.
Hoping part of the mental lapses the team had with the personal fouls were due in part to being fed up with OU’s crap and not a bigger problem.

I think they held the flag as he already had one PF penalty and a second would have caused his disqualification.I still can't believe unsportsmanlike conduct was not called on that play. My memory is blurred by anger, but didn't the ref come over and try to pull him off?The dude took a dive right into Williams directly in front of at least two refs. I figured each ref was expecting the other to throw a flag and ended up that none were thrown. There was no way for them to not recognize this.
