Will Deonte Brown Start This Week?

Looking toward the rotation as the season goes, don’t forget Dalcourt at center.

We have a left-handed QB...

Last year someone posted a passing chart that showed where each QB threw it and where they had the most completions versus incompletions. It was very enlightening as far as showing both of our quarterbacks strengths and tendencies. Does anyone know if there is something similar for running? It would he cool to know if we are a better team running right or left, and outside versus inside.

gotta imagine our best line by the end of this season is

Leatherwood
Brown
Owens/Dalcourt
Dickerson
Wills

I hope this is what we have by A&M or at the latest LSU.

Sounds about right, although I think C may still be up in the air. This week I don’t think Brown starts but plays. Maybe a good bit.

To answer the OP's question: I don't think so.

Saban has signaled that conditioning is an issue, and Mike Johnson's comments in this article from TideSports say pretty much the same thing. As in, if Brown can't sustain through a 10-play drive, he'll be on the bench.

Compounding that is the fact that continuity has been an issue for this year's OL. Brown's return, while welcome, does add another change. And if he has to come out for a rest due to his current conditioning level, that's yet another.

Today, I would see Brown playing in spot duty, working him in during times where disruption is minimized -- goal line situations, just before the half, second half (when we are hopefully comfortably ahead). As conditioning improves, I do think he'll be starting by LSU, but that's over a month away.

No excuse for Brown having a conditioning issue at this point. He's had the opportunities to stay in playing shape...
This is the most disappointing thing of the whole Deonte Brown situation. He knew he was coming back later and had more to prove since he cost his team. If he isn't in shape and had the opportunity to stay in shape by working out with the team and still didn't, maybe we should just give up on him.
