I picked Bama to win. But I also believe anyone on the board can pick what they feel the final score will be, given the title of this thread. I didn't realize folks were so fragile that they couldn't see an opposing pick.

I know that you did - that's why I didn't say "you" in my first sentence. Sorry I was not clear.

But if folks who don't like the negativity are "fragile", how fragile are those who stopped believing altogether?

I like Mac, but you don't have to be fragile to think we might not win an away game with a backup qb facing probably best front 7 we've seen all year, with an O-line that has been inconsistent at times. And then there are the injuries on defense, to go along with only a 3 point spread.

This is an Alabama board and you are going to get some pushback if you pick against them (especially vs Auburn and Tennessee). Point is expect some pushback if you are going to make that kinda pick. It’s best to say “My heart believes this, but my brain believes this” kinda post if you are going to do it, and fear pushback.

Now I will say since Tua has started, the pumper crowd has sometimes been extra hostile in these threads even towards folks who pick Bama in a close game. But picking against Alabama will always get an unfavorable response in general.

No, you don't. The original post asked for a prediction, not a prediction and the reason why. We are only favored by 3 points, and the game is at Auburn, where weird things happen.

And when it comes to what has Auburn done to make anyone think they will beat us this year, they've won 7 games, currently ranked @ #15, and have the most unbelievable luck when playing at home. It's not trolling to say they'll win, it's a possibility.

If it's just a possibility Auburn "might" win, but we're favored by 3 points, why would any true Bama fan pick Auburn to win? That's definitely not showing positive support for your team. If Auburn were favored to win by 3, I'd still pick Bama. It's not like we're Arkansas.

Is this thread about showing positive support for your team, or is it about offering what you believe the final score will be? To be a true Bama fan, you don't have to think Bama will win every single game. And just because someone picks the opposing team to win, doesn't make them any less of a fan.

If Auburn were favored to win by 3, I'd still pick Bama.

And that's your prerogative, but some posters feel that Auburn will win, and that's what they posted.

Funny how those plays are perfectly legal when Clemson or Awbun run them..but when Bama runs them...they are 'pick plays' and should be called. Most every school runs a very similar Offense to Bama's. In Fact...hard to tell one team from another IMO. Efficiency is the main difference. Kinda funny because they are obviously not keeping up with the SEC or ESPN channels as to what the ex-jocks are saying about Bama. Not much really. They are pulling for Ohio St, LSU, and Clemson and I have no issue there. All worthy as of right now. There won't be 2 teams from the SEC in the playoffs IMO. Hope I am wrong. Auburn has only beaten one decent team. Oregon. Every other decent team has beaten them. They struggled with Ole Miss.

Is the argument that they are picking Auburn because they lose to very good teams?

That amazing front seven didn’t help them win vs Florida, or UGA, or LSU.

So, does the Auburn Picker believe that we are indeed the inferior team?

I picked A&M to beat LSU. Reason? Pulling for chaos. Not because I think A&M is better.

We'll find out who the team leader(s) are in this game. Bama has a playoff berth at stake, Auburn is going to the Mobile Bowl. If the players aren't motivated by that then there is little coach can do. Also, Mac is not a "back up" QB in the sense he sat on the bench for three years with no playing time. He's a very good QB and I'm sure he's dreamed of this opportunity. His confidence has to be high after last week. He's getting the majority of snaps in practice with the first team; I think he's in a good place. Plus, he isn't being asked to carry the team. I think the defense has grown in the last month and we're starting to see reaction instead of whack-a-mole play. It's going to be a fun and great game, but Bama's resilience will carry the day and the Tide will Roll by 42-17!

Anyone here can pick whatever score they want. But when Bama has a legit chance of winning and is favored by 3, some of us here don't understand why any Bama fan would pick Auburn to win. It's not like we're Arkansas. It's like your wife becomes real sick, and the doctor says she has a 60% chance to recover. And you tell everyone, "She's gonna die."

Apparently it is not OK per DogPatch to give someone a little heat for picking the Barn. The prediction that got this going was the Barn was going to run us out of Jordan-Hare by 2 TD's. The overwhelming majority would say Moo to this everytime. I would think you would get the same on a FLA board if you picked FSU to put a beatdown on them.
