Crazy game, but still the worst D

I have been thinking that we need some coach stability, but after the way the defense has played this year, it is time for a new DC. And all of the penalties and mistakes would make you think Coach Saban will be reevaluating the whole coaching staff.

And we need a REAL DC, two years of rent-a-DC has not been good for us.

I honestly don't have anything bad to say about the offensive staff. I thought Sark did a great job getting together a gameplan that gave Bama every chance to win the game. He didn't throw the picks. How you get the false start penalties under control is beyond me. Maybe someone can tell me a strategy or coaching tactic to deal with it because no doubt the coaches are drilling this all the time. The OL blocking improved a lot over the course of the season. The WR were incredible, and Najee really grew as a runner and receiver.

The Defensive staff is tougher. I agree Golding seems to be struggling, but how different would the defense have been without all the injuries? That is the unknown. Unless a top tier DC comes available I probably give Golding another year. Also remember something important. College football has changed more over the last 5 years than in the previous 25. There will be no more shut down corners or 2011 type defenses. Even the best defenses are going to get torched, but this one got torched bad.

You know, I never see the DC on TV like I used to see Smart and Pruitt. Is he in the Press Box? You KNEW who was responsible for the DEFENSE when they were here! Yes, I know. I'm looking for someone with a BEARD!

The game has changed before our eyes in the last 2 or 3 years. What does CNS do? You could argue he changed his offensive philosophy and I think that's where we have to stay with someone like Young coming in, but what does he do on defense???

The problem is the freshman linebackers looked just as loss tonight as they did in the 1st game they played in. That looks like lack of coaching to me.

The deal is that the new guys didn’t get any better. These guys were still making the same mistakes all year.

Yeah, I hate Big 12 style football, too, but with all the rule changes favoring the offensive side of the ball, I really don't see an option. It seems these days that forcing three or four punts counts as good defense. It is ugly to watch.

Personally, I think that Bama defenses over the past decade would almost universally never accept anything other than almost complete perfection. That has changed.

Not bagging, but the newer generations are generally different, and most of them never even have a job until after college, let alone help around the house ....not like us old timers who worked since they had the paper route at age 11! Just saying.....but it feels like the Bama D is just more accepting of being easily penetrationable. That’s got to change.

Would like to say I may have seen him calling bingo games at the senior center as he prepares to fall back into a profession that can make better use of his qualifications...
