Alabama suspends spring football practice due to coronavirus

I assume they will wait a while to decide but I can see it probably being canceled unless things improve by then. Though, they were already reducing the number that could attend due to the construction that is on-going.

Hmmm.

Will March Madness be cancelled? If not, the Selection Committee will have to base some decisions without the Conference Tournament(s)...

Betting odds just moved drastically into it being canceled since pretty much every conference just canceled their tournament

For our 60+ crowd, please take care of yourselves. You guys are a big deal to the rest of us. Extended family. So while this craziness continues, please take the conservative approach and let the young guns be cavalier.

We need you all to be here this fall. So God Bless. And please take care of yourself.
Thanks.
Lets cancel the Spring Game and work on a couple of surprises for the regular season?
A version of closed practices worked when we installed the WISHBONE.
USC never saw it coming. :)
BUT... Please, Please, Please, don't return to the Bone. We have too many hot shot Quarterbacks to go back to Yester years...

I would suggest the PBS documentary in
This is nuts! I feel like I’m living in a parallel universe 🙄
Last night, Mrs. Tidewater and I watch a documentary on PBS: The American Experience on the (ironically-named) Spanish Flu.
Killed more Americans in the autumn of 1918 than died in all American wars in the 20th century. They did not know how to slow the spread. We now do.
Much better to be safe than sorry.

This seems a little extreme and knee jerk. Why not wait and see how things are progressing before deciding to completely call off events that take place in June?

Totally agree. I'm not saying it's not an issue because it is, but if this virus acts like most corona type viruses it will dissipate as the weather warms. It may not do that, but why cancel something three months out when you don't have to make that decision yet?

I am in the same boat but realizing now that this particular virus can be airborne and attacks the respiratory system. Having had bronchitis and pneumonia in the past I realize that this will be a monster to overcome.
I've had both as well...several times from as a child to adulthood...so I am careful as well. Problem with respiratory is that by the time you know you have it you probably have lost 50% of your lung capacity....when you get up every morning take a deep breath and hold it for ten full seconds. If you can do that, then you're not infected...if you cannot, get to a doctor asap.
